Chapter 14

Tessa

No no no. This has to stop.

"No it wasn't good. I'm sorry. We can't do this anymore. We can't your getting married next week. We can't be doing this. This is wrong," I said pushing him away from me.

He looks at me, confusion clouding his face as he is trying to process what just happened.

"Wait. What do you mean? I thought.. I thought we had something. Tessa come on," he starts to step towards me; each step he takes I take one back.

"Are you listening to yourself? Chance, you are getting married. This has to stop. You love Mai, and she loves you. We can't do this," I start to walk away from Chance when I hear him following me.

"Wait Tessa-" I turn around faster than lighting.

"No Chance. Stop. Just stop," I go upstairs with a broken heart, I love him. He doesn't love me. He's getting married, and I don't want him to be unhappy because of selfishness.

I don't hear him follow me then, I go upstairs to my room, sitting there crying.

(4 days later)

3 days to the wedding and I couldn't be happier. I seen so much change in Mai. She's been happier, nicer, and she can non stop talking about the wedding. I'll take her out to lunch dates with my family, times alone, but every second with her is amazing.

I'm at a local coffee shop with Mai, Tessa, and I just chatting.

I met her family yesterday and they are amazing people. They really love is together, the compliments constantly given and how excited they are to have their daughter marry me is an honor. I could be happier.

But what made me the happiest was when Tessa and Mai became friends. Mai actually asked Tessa to her Maid of Honor at the wedding. She dropped one of her closest friends to replace Tessa with. Tessa said yes and now us 3 are making final preparations for the wedding.

"Aww Mai you are going to look so beautiful in this dress," Tessa said.

"And you'll look amazing in this one Tessa," Mai said to Tessa, "Oh I am so excited for this wedding. I wish it could come faster. Right Chance?" Mai asked.

"I couldn't agree more. I am just so happy," I glance over at Tessa who has an unreadable expression on her face, "Tessa, you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. Why'd you ask?" She says looking at me.

"Just wondering. Look guys I gotta go back home. I think I should get a call from the interview I had pretty soon. Bye guys," she waves at us.

"Bye," Mai and I said together. As soon as she was out of sight, Mai scoots closer to me.

"Hey Chance, I have a question," Mai says.

"Go for it," I say leaning back in my chair.

"When is she going to leave? I know I've been asking, but the wedding is 3 days away. She can't be staying with us. Especially since I'm moving in," She says. I internally groan from her question.

She's been asking that now for weeks. I know that she shouldn't be here, but I've been giving her days to find a job first. I will give Tessa some money so she can find her own place, but she'll need a job to keep her place.

"Trust me Mai, she is. We already found her an apartment to stay in, we just want it see if she got the job first. She already has her stuff in boxes. Nothing to worry about," I said reassuring her.

"OK Chance," Mai comes over to give me a longing kiss which I gladly return.

"I love you, Mai," I say pulling back from the kiss.

"I love you too Chance."

Sorry for the slow updates guys. School and whatever. But I'm sick so I'm like let me update since I'm not at school. So yeah.

I also deleted my instagram but apparently it's still up there for some reason.
