my body was covered in a cold sweat and my ears seemed to ring loudly. i looked around the cabin, my vision waving in my eyes. "hello?" managed to call out. I expected something from Dominick for waking him up or even maura, but no one was there. i pushed the covers aside and stood up cautiously. after changing into my camp outfit I walked out the door and towards the pavilion. to my relief people sat around the crowded tables, enjoying their breakfast. i say down at the ares table, a few other campers at the table, but none that i was real close to.

"aella?" i heard a voice ask. i looked up and saw savannah. "hey." i smiled at her. "you alright? you look kinda... pale." i quickly looked down at my plate of food which only contained a few scraps. "im fine." "alright." she said hesitantly before walking away, her long brown hair swinging behind her.

the day went by in a blur and night quickly came again. campers were heading towards their cabins as i set my training sword down in the arena. i started walking towards my cabin in the dark night, occasionally looking up at the stars. the grounds were silent. i stopped in my tracks and glanced at my cabin before turning around and running towards the woods and entering silently. the air became cooler in here, and i could barely see. slits of moonlight shone through the tree's but that was all the light i had to go by. i made my way through the woods quietly and easily, as if it was an everyday task. i walked along a rock wall, dragging my hand along it's side before i heard whispers. my blood turned cold instantly. "shut up, someone might be out here!" i heard a male say. "are you kidding? there's no one in the woods at this hour." said another boy. "yet we are." this time a girl spoke, and she sounded oddly familiar. i slowly went down onto my hands and knees and moved forward towards where i heard the whispers. I came across a small campfire and crouched behind a bush, making sure the shadows covered me.

the three people around the campfire continued in conversation, but I couldn't see who they were. carefully, i moved to the side. "damn." I muttered under my breath. there was no way I could see them from this side, but i could from the other. taking a deep breath, I stood up and backed up into the shadows again before heading towards the other side. the moon's light couldn't reach here anymore so I was relying solely on my instinct. my heart pounded against my chest, creating short breaths. of course, at the worst time, a branch caught my foot and i fell to the ground. "what was that?" the girl said. I sat up quickly and reached forward to get my leg out from where it was caught. "shit!" i whispered to myself. "ill go check it out." said one of the boys. I heard his footsteps making their way towards me and i managed to pull my foot free, but not fast enough. I pulled out my dagger just as the boys face came into view. "aella!" i scrambled back before stopping in surprise. "gabe?"
