I woke up the next morning in the infirmary. I shifted slightly then winced at the pain in my side.

"Adrianna got you when you, uh, y'know." Said a voice beside me. I looked over and saw Sydney, a small and kind Hypnos girl. Her eyes were a soft blue and gave off a caring look. "I was put here to make sure you kept sleeping."

I nodded and looked down at the bandages on my side. The night before ran through my mind and I could feel vomit rising in my throat.

"Oh gods." I groaned. "Where's Cody?"

"I don't know, but I can get him." She spoke softly. I nodded and rubbed my face gently, biting down on my tongue. I heard her stand up and exit the infirmary.

Minutes later Cody walked in and slowly sat beside me. It was silent for a moment before I spoke,

"Is she dead?" My voice came out in a whisper.

"Which one?"

"Wendy." My body became ridged as I watched his expression turn solemn.

"Yes."

I closed my eyes as I held back tears, shaking my head slightly. I could tell he was staring at me.

"And Adrianna?"

"You got her good." He spoke softly.

I felt my stomach lurch as my eyes shot open. My breath hitched before I spoke,

"I killed someone. Oh gods. Cody, I took someone's life. They aren't going to be here anymore." I knew that I shouldn't have felt bad, but I did. It was our moral, for the Loyals, to not kill.

"I know." He spoke shortly.

"What about everyone else?"

"Elsa got Jana pretty bad, and that got Sav too."

The two sisters had twin telepathy, which meant whatever happened to one it happened to the other.

"Help me up." I spoke. "Please."

Cody shook his head and looked down at me, tapping his fingertips on his knee.

"Sorry, sis. I don't think your side can take much movement."

Shaking my head, I pushed myself up.

"I just want to train. C'mon."

His hand reached out to push me back down before he nodded slightly.

"Alright, fine." I grabbed his hand as soon as he spoke and pulled myself up, wincing at the sudden movement. "Are you sure you want to?"

"Yes, I'm sure." I looked around the area and raised an eyebrow. "Where's my shirt?"

"Since when does an Ares kid wear a shirt to train?" He asked, looking over at me.

"Ever since they've had a big-ass bandage on their side." I responded as I fished my shirt out from the covers and slid it on.

"Fair enough."

Minutes later we were walking across the grounds of Camp. I looked around at the campers milling around, praying they wouldn't stop and stare. A few did, but others merely shrugged my appearance off.

Cody must've noticed my wandering eyes and spoke quietly,

"No one thinks what you did was wrong," he paused before speaking again. "Well, most don't think so."

I stayed silent before I spoke sharply,

"That's because they think it's just what I do, being an Ares kid and all. Listen, I didn't necessarily want to kill her. It happened, but I might've later on anyways. You didn't hear that leave my mouth, though. Alright?"

He nodded before glancing down at his watch and speaking quickly,

"I have to go. The horse class or whatever is next, and I'm already late." He turned on his heel and ran off.

I walked into the training area and made my way over to my usual corner of the grounds, picking up a sword from the table and spinning it in my hand. Once I was comfortable with the sword I positioned myself in front of a dummy and swung my sword in an ark across it's chest. I brought my arm back to bring the blade down on the shoulder but quickly released the sword and grabbed my side, wincing in pain as the wound opened back up.

"Dammit!" I yelled. I picked the sword up from the ground and carefully set it back on the table before sitting down against the wall.

I clutched my side for awhile, refusing to call out for help. I knew it wasn't deep enough for me to bleed out, but it hurt like hell.

"I fuc-." I muttered before a voice cut me off, filling up the entire area.

"Aella, there's no need for foul language." The voice was bitter and taunting, and there was only one person besides Elsa and Callista that could pull that off.

Flora.
