Scarlett:
You have to run now Scarlett. He's coming to get you. He'll probably punish you harshly if he finds you now.
I whimpered and started to run faster. Where was the exit here? Why can't I find it like last time?
My breaths came in short pants as I felt dizzy. My footsteps echoed in the hallway and I winced at the noise it made. He could hear everything. I couldn't run any quieter and frankly, I didn't care anymore. I picked up my skirts and started to run faster at that thought.
Please help me, mama, I beg of you. I'm scared. Help me find a way out of here.
I made a sharp right and ran past some guards. No one even made an attempt to stop me. They didn't even glance at my direction. It's like seeing a human girl running was something they saw every day. I passed by rooms and every second felt longer. Everything looked the same and I started to hyperventilate. Why can't I find the door?
I gasped in relief as I saw the big door finally. The exit. I ran faster and reached my hand out to open the door. My hand stilled as a horrendous noise was let out.
The ground shook as a roar was let out. The frames on the wall shook and I cried out. Quickly I pushed the door hoping it would let me out.
The door didn't move one bit.
I kept pushing and pushing. Moving around I tried to see if there was a lock on it but there was nothing. I looked around frantically to see if there was anyone to help me.
No one. The place was empty. It's like all the guards left in fear of him as well.
"No no no." I cried out while banging the door. Why wasn't it opening? I was scared to yell. What if he heard me? Tears of frustration began to leak out of my eyes as I felt the air around me turn colder. I banged the door again hoping it would magically open up for me.
Scarlett run. Find somewhere else. Hide, for now, focus on him not finding you.
I started to run again and picked up my skirts again and tried to run faster. Everything was starting to hurt. My neck started to pulse with pain and turned hot. I tried to ignore it and kept running.
I looked around to see a place where I could hide. Whatever happened I tried not to think about where to hide. What if he heard me?
Oh, I hear you alright Scarlett. Come back to the library now! I heard his voice in my head. The anger was evident and that made me shake with more fear.
It was like history was repeating itself and I shook my head in response.
I turned my head left and right until I saw the door that leads to the garden. I pumped my legs faster, ignoring the pain and opened the door.
It still looked beautiful as ever but I didn't have time to appreciate its beauty. I ran through the grass and tried to find something, anything.
Why did you come here in the first place? You can't hide in here at all! My conscience was bound to make me scared more. It made me more paranoid as it questioned my every decision.
"I don't know! This is the only room I'm comfortable in!" I cried out to myself.
I looked around to see if there was anywhere I could've hidden. Nothing except flowers and trees. I didn't know how to climb trees so that was out of the picture.
Scarlett where the hell are you??? I heard him growl. Everything turned cold and my neck started to hurt more.
I whimpered as my head started to pound. Frantically I saw a big bush. Without a single thought, I ran into it and hid inside it.
