BELLE
“Can’t you believe it, Mitch? I’m here again in this hell-like place.”
I heard the crunchy sound on the other line, making me think she’s in the living room again watching the same old toons in the morning. “Sounds cool.”
“Definitely.” I rolled my eyes and proceeded walking towards the place where you get your bags and luggage. I grabbed my black and white suitcase altogether with my blue trolley bag. I emitted a sigh; Five months? My momma’s crazy about it. She probably thinks I could run the company myself even if there are no chances when I first got in it when I was eighteen.
“I’ll call you later. Bye.” I said before sliding the phone back inside my bag. Dang, she’s out of her mind.
This place is so-not good. A lot of bad memories are in here and I just hope people can’t recognize me. The pain was too much and seven years was also too much to ask. Now that I’m here, I could feel goose bumps rising on my skin. I wanna go back there in my flat and lay my back flat on the fluffiest couch. I miss it so much.
I jumped out of the cab after paying the bill and let my eyes scan the hotel from top to bottom. It looks great and somewhat familiar to me when I first got into California with my siblings. Oh right, this was the one we stayed in. What a great coincidence.
I took the keys from the counter and proceeded to my room on the fifth floor, together with the hotel staff that was guiding me to my place. I thanked him after that and he quickly left. I was already comfortable and have nothing to worry---
My phone rang again. Dang, what does this woman want again?
“Hello?”
“Did you get there safely?”
“Yes.”
“Good to know. Now get your butt off your bed because I know you are in there and go to Bo’s Coffee near your hotel. The nearest branch to you. Right now.” Then she put the call off.
Am I really born to follow her rules? Damn, then my life’s pointless.

I removed the sunglasses once my foot landed on the ground of my destination. Why the hell did she pick a coffee shop for me to meet the company stock holder in a hot Monday morning like this? This woman’s out of her mind again.
I entered Bo’s Coffee without any hesitation, quickly gaining attention from people who were taking a peaceful break inside as the sweet aroma of coffee filled the walls of my nose. I really missed cappuccino.
From the left side of the shop, I saw a man wearing black tux eyeing me suspiciously. He must be the one I’m looking for.
But before I could even attend him, I got myself a cup of cappuccino and a sliced mocha cake and got to his place. With his looks, he seemed familiar. I shrugged it off and proceeded to his place, taking the seat apart from him.
