Really

Clothes are strewn everywhere. The sheets of my bed have fallen to the floor. Everything is in disarray, but I don't really care.

"So," Ash suddenly says, and I look to her. She looks so beautiful. Her blue hair is fanned out around her face, and her cheeks are flushed pink.

"So," I repeat, making her smile.

"That was fun," she says, and I laugh lightly. A part of me wishes this were real. But in my heart, I know this was a one-time thing. She was hurting and needed someone. I was that someone.

"It really was," I respond, and she rolls over to look at me better.

She puts a hand on my face, making my heart flutter.

"How do you feel about me?" she asks suddenly, making my cheeks flush.

"How do I feel?"

"Mhmm," she looks into my eyes intently, and I bite my lip.

"Um," I say, trying to figure out what to say. "I love you," I finally say, and she smiles slightly.

"How? How do you love me?"

I know what she's asking, but I try to pretend I don't.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb," she says, seeing through me immediately. "Do you love me as a friend or as something more?"

"More," I mumble, and she moves her hand from face, instead moving closer and resting it on my hip.

"What was that?" she asks, her eyes glinting mischievously.

She's almost like a completely different person now. I missed this Ashley.

"More," I repeat more clearly. "Something more." I meet her eyes, and she smiles.

"I hoped so," she admits, making my heart skip a beat.

"Really?"

She leans in, letting her lips brush mine. My heart beats in rapid fire, and I'm scared she can hear it.

She whispers against my lips, "Really."

I close the gap between us, and she smiles against my lips. A thought flickers in my mind. But does she love me?

"Ash," I mumble, and she pulls away to look at me.

"Hmm?" She touches my face with her hand. Her skin is so soft and warm. She meets my eyes, and I feel my face flush.

"How do you feel about me?" I bite my lip nervously. Can she even love someone now?

"I love you," she replies slowly, her eyes flickering away from mine.

"How? Can you even truly love someone right now?"

"I honestly don't know," she responds, her eyes meeting mine again. "But Lolo, I do know I love..." Her lips turn up into a smirk. "I loved what we just did."

"Me, too," I admit.

"I want to do it again," she tells me, making my heart speed up. "If that's okay with you."

"Ash, I'd love to."
