3rd P.O.V
Sam frowned as he heard Dean humming something. Ellie had decided to distract herself by picturing herself on the ground and not on a plane that was about to crash.
"You're humming Metallica?" Sam asked.
"Calms me down." Dean replied and got back to humming.
"Look, man, I get you're nervous, all right? But you got to stay focused." Sam said. "You too, Ellie."
"Okay." They nodded.
"I mean, we got thirty-two minutes and counting to track this thing down, or whoever it's possessing, anyway, and perform a full-on exorcism." Sam said, not making things that much better.
"Yeah, on a crowded plane. That's gonna be easy." Dean said.
"Just take it one step at a time, all right?" Sam calmly said. "Now, who is it possessing?"
"It's usually gonna be somebody with some sort of weakness, you know, a chink in the armor that the demon can worm through. Somebody with an addiction or some sort of emotional distress." Ellie explained, getting her mind off of things.
"Well, this is Amanda's first flight after the crash. If I were her, I'd be pretty messed up." Sam said.
Dean hummed in agreement.
"Excuse me." Dean said to a passing flight attendant. "Are you Amanda?"
"No, I'm not." The woman replied with a smile.
"Oh, my mistake." Dean apologized and the woman walked away. "All right, well, that's got to be Amanda back there, so I'll go talk to her, and, uh, I'll get a read on her mental state."
"What if she's already possessed?" Sam asked.
"There's ways to test that." Dean answered, getting to his bag and unzipping it, showing a bottle containing a clear liquid. "I brought holy water."
Ellie rolled her eyes and snatched the bottle, hitting Dean on the head with it.
"Have you never heard of being subtil?" She snapped. "If she's possessed, she'll flinch at the name of God."
"Oh. Nice." Dean said, pointing at her.
He unbuckled himself and started to walk away. Ellie turned her head towards him.
"Hey." She called out.
Dean came back.
"What?" He asked.
"Say it in Latin." Ellie stated.
"I know." Dean said.
He walked away again, but Ellie turned around. The plane was really making her nervous.
"Hey!" She called him again.
"What?!" Dean snapped, coming back.
"Uh, in Latin, it's 'Christo'." She said.
"I know! I'm not an idiot!" He snapped again.
Dean came back after a while, looking annoyed.
"All right, well, she's got to be the most well-adjusted person on the planet." He said.
"You said 'Christo'?" Sam asked.
"Yeah." Dean breathe out.
"And?" Ellie eagerly asked.
"There's no demon in her. There's no demon getting in her." Dean snapped.
"So, if it's on the plane, it can be anyone. Anywhere." Sam said.
Suddenly, the plane started shaking due to turbulences. Ellie tightly shut her eyes.
"Come on! That can't be normal!" Dean almost yelled.
"Hey, hey, it's just a little turbulence." Sam tried to soothe Dean and Ellie.
"Sam, this plane is going to crash, okay?" Ellie snapped at Sam. "So quit treating us like we're friggin' four."
"You two need to calm down." Sam softly said.
"Well, I'm sorry I can't." Dean said harshly.
"Yes, you can." Sam countered, still speaking softly.
"Dude, stow the touchy-feely, self-help yoga crap, it's not helping." The big brother snapped.
"Listen, if you're panicked, you're wide open to demonic possession, so you need to calm yourself down. Right now." Sam said softly but sternly. Dean took a deep breath to calm himself while Ellie closed her eyes again. When she opened them, she was somewhat calm. "Good. Now, I found an exorcism in here that I think is gonna work. The Ritual Romanum."
Ellie sighed as Sam handed her the journal.
"What do I have to do?" She asked.
"It's two parts. The first part expels the demon from the victim's body. It makes it manifest, which actually makes it more powerful." Sam explained.
Dean's eyes widened as did Ellie's.
"More powerful?" Dean asked.
"Yeah." Sam nodded.
"Sam, we're trying to stop this plane from crashing, not to freaking make it crash!" Ellie said and Sam glared at her. She sighed and calmed down. "Okay, how?"
"Well, it doesn't need to possess someone anymore. It can just wreak havoc on its own." Sam continued his explanation.
"Oh. And why is that a good thing?" Dean asked.
"Well, because the second part sends the bastard back to hell once and for all." Sam said.
"First things first, we got to find it." Ellie said.
Dean took his EVP so he could try and find the demon while Sam and Ellie waited for him. After a while, Sam took Ellie's hand and brought her to Dean. He placed his hand on his brother's shoulder which startled him.
"Don't do that!" Dean hissed.
"Anything?" Sam asked.
"No, nothing. How much time we got?" Dean asked.
Sam checked his watch.
"Fifteen minutes." He said. "Maybe we missed somebody."
"Maybe the thing's just not on the plane." Ellie suggested.
Sam looked at her.
"You believe that?" He asked her.
"Well, I will if you will." Ellie shrugged.
Suddenly, Dean's eyes went wide as he looked at the captain who had just gotten out of the bathroom.
"What? What is it?" Sam asked as he and Ellie hadn't noticed.
"Christo." Dean whispered.
The captain's head turned around and his eyes flashed black. The three looked at each other. They had just found the demon.
