Carrying the load, with wings that feel like stones
Knowing that we nearly fell so far now
It's hard to tellYeah we came so close, it was almost love
It was almost love, it was almost love

In a motel room, Dean is at a table, looking at his dad's journal as Sam is on his phone, sitting on his bed and Ellie was reading Harry Potter.
"No, Dad was in California last we heard from him. We just thought..." there was a pause. "He comes to you for 'munitions...." Another pause. "Maybe you've seen him in the last few weeks. Just, call us if you hear anything. Thanks."
Sam hung up.
"Caleb hasn't heard from him?" Dean asked.
"Nope. And neither has Jefferson or Pastor Jim." Sam replied. "What about the journal? Anything leads in there?"
"No, same as last time I looked. Nothing I can make out...." Dean admitted. "I love the guy, but I swear, he writes like friggin' Yoda."
"I told you two and I will say it again," Ellie said, turning a page in her book. "If John can't be found, it's because he doesn't wanna be. He'll turn up when he needs us."
"Yeah, but we need him, now." Sam shut Ellie down. "You know, maybe we should call the Feds. File a missing person's." He suggested.
Ellie snorted.
"I'd love to see what John would do if he learned that his sons set the Feds on him." She said amusedly. "He'd rip you guys a new one."
"I don't care anymore." Sam replied as Dean's phone started ringing. The latter stood up and went to it. Sam continued. "After all that happened back in Kansas, I mean... he should've been there. You said so yourself. You tried to call him and... nothing."
"I know!" Dean replied. "Where the hell is my cellphone?"
Jean's pocket on the bed. Dumbass.
"Check your jean's pockets on the bed," Ellie said, still not looking away from her book.
Dean headed there and started checking.
"You know, he could be dead for all we know." Sam mused.
"Don't say that!" Dean snapped. "He's not dead! He's-he's..."
"He's what? He's hiding? He's busy?" Sam asked as Dean finally found his phone and looked at it.
"Huh. I don't believe it." Dean said lightly.
Ellie finally looked up from her book.
"What?" she and Sam asked.
Dean sighed and sat down on his bed, throwing the phone at Ellie who picked it up and read it. 42, -89, it read.
"It's, uh.... It's a text message. It's coordinates." Dean announced.
It didn't even take five minutes and Ellie was already researching on her computer, while the boys crowded her.
"You think Dad was texting us?" Sam asked.
"He's given us coordinates before," Dean stated.
"The man can barely work a toaster, Dean," Sam protested.
