Everything was a shock. I never felt this before. The moment Kaito stared onto my eyes made me fell in love on him instantly. I did feel it since we were in junior high school, but today, it was different. It seemed like something happened to him. Then he suddenly pushed me gently against the wall of the classroom. And I was like a statue that blushing red. He smiled. Oh my God!! That’s the most charming smile I have ever seen. I felt myself weaker and weaker. Then I realized he was trying to carry me with his arms. At last I realized that I am now on his arms! The girls in the class were gasping. Then I remembered what was happening.

Earlier today, I forgot to have my daily breakfast because I woke up late and he was waiting for me already. We usually have a walk to the school every day since his house is next to mine. As I greeted him in the morning as usual, he smiled, just a normal smile that I always see on his face.
“What took you so long?” Kaito asked, as we started to leave my house.
“Sorry. I woke up late. Last night I’m studying late,” I said as I checked my schoolbag to make sure nothing was left behind.
“Oh, so that’s why,” he said, made me turned to him and puzzled.
“What do you mean?” I asked him, but all he did was smiling. “Don’t tell me you’re the one who was watching me all night last night?”
“Why would I watching you?” he replied, but something’s wrong with him that morning. “Tell me, Mrs. Holmes, why would I do that?”
“My, my… You’re challenging me. It’s your eyes. It tells me the truth.”
“My eyes?” he stopped as he said that. “What’s in my eyes then?” His question startled me. There was a sudden quiet. Then I broke the silence.
“There are two things that your eyes told me. The first one was you’ve got eye bags that can only visible when a person that usually sleeps early, sleeps late. The second was that I can see that you’re lying about it through your eyes. That’s it.” My deduction ended with a long silence. I could see the different expression on his face. It was really, really different than the usual one he shows me.
“Oh… So you only saw that in my eyes,” then his head was down. I was surprised. When I was getting closer to him, suddenly he screamed at my face and ran all the way to the school gate. “You’ve been tricked, detective!! Hahaha!!!”
“Hey wait!” I couldn’t run since I haven’t taken my breakfast. “It’s okay. Calm down Ayako. Just walk to the school. It’s not far though.” So I walked down the last street where the gate was located. I could see the other students from the same school entering the school with their friends, but then my eyes were locked on some loving couples from the same level as mine. I was watching them on my way walking towards the gate and smiling, hoping that happiness will come sooner.
As I entered the schoolyard, Kaito held my hands from behind. “Hey are you going to leave me behind?”
“Yes I think, since you left me behind,” I said, sulking as I walked in the school corridor. I went to my locker and put in my shoes. Then he appeared next to me, since his locker is also next to mine.
“My, my… you’re angry with me? Gomen ne, Ayako,” he said, leaning against his locker as I put on my slippers. I didn’t say a word because I’m still mad at him, though I knew he’s innocent. He didn’t know that I didn’t take my breakfast today. Suddenly I felt dizzy. As I put my hand onto my forehead, Kaito touched me on my right shoulder. “Are you all right, Ayako? You seem not.”
