It was Friday now and for once, I was actually eager to go to school to meet with my friends.
I never had proper friends before. I was usually that girl who tagged along with everyone else so I didn't feel alone. Everyone knew me and found me nice or whatever but I never really fit in anywhere so I didn't have actual friends.
Hayley was on her own this morning and she stood beside the same water fountain as yesterday.
"Hey Ashley" she gave me a smile "How's your...face?"
I chucked "It's getting better but it's still really sore, especially my nose"
"I'm glad it's easing up!" She beamed at me before continuing "So, Lana, Marina and I are going to the café after school, would you like to come?"
I nodded "I'd love to!"
"Great!" She waited with me while I got my stuff and then we headed to class together.
It almost seemed too good to be true. The girl I had been crushing on for the past two and a half years was actually my friend and was inviting me out with her friends. It was just amazing.
I managed to get through the day with the girls' help and I didn't cross paths with Melanie at all.
I did see her in history class but she didn't torment me like she usually does.
I felt a bit nervous at that. A quiet Melanie was never good. It usually meant she was plotting something.
But I shook it off and tried to focus on Hayley and my new friends. Sure, as long as I had them, I'd be fine.
