The bell rang signalling time for break at school. It was now mid-November and Jesy and Leigh-Anne hadn't seen the strange boys since their last encounter.
"I'm kind of disappointed though." Jesy said as the five of them walked to the gazebo they usually ate under. "I really wanted to see how much they'd cry when they got arrested." She was speaking about the boys they'd met.
"Just tell me where they live and I'll beat 'em both up Jes." Jake said as they all sat down. "I don't like the idea of big kids harassing you."
"They sound nice considering the fact that they bought you all that real expensive game." Jade said opening up a pack of biscuits. "Maybe they really do just wanna be friends." She shrugged.
"Or maybe they really want to turn you into glue." Perrie said using a spoon to scoop pudding. Jesy had told them about the boys and her plan. "I wouldn't want to be putting you and Leigh in my art projects."
The kids all laughed at that. "They'd never get the chance Perrie. Jesy wouldn't let them." Leigh-Anne said before biting from a celery stick with peanut butter on it. She pulled out her water then took a long drink. "So are any of you all going to take part in the school's Christmas concert?" She asked this shyly.
Jesy scoffed. "Lame."
Jake put his arm around her. "I think the two of us should do a duet of 'Baby it's Cold Outside'." He wriggled his brows. "It'd be magical."
Jesy flung his arm off. "Ew."
"But you can sing Jes. It'd be nice." Jade was nibbling slowly from her biscuit now. "I want to do a song but I'm afraid to sing on me own."
Leigh-Anne looked at Jade. "I could sing with you if you want. I love singing." She took another sip of water then looked to the ground.
Jade blushed. "Really?"
"You coulda asked me." Perrie said looking at Jade. "I would've loved to sing with you Jade." She pulled out another pudding cup.
"Perrie we all know you'd chicken out at the last minute." Jesy said rolling her eyes. "If you want to sing Leigh-Anne, I could sing with you y'know." She shrugged.
Jake snickered. "You were literally just calling the school's Christmas concert 'lame'"
"Shut up!" Jesy punched him in the arm.
"The three of us could sing together then." Leigh-Anne said in excitement. "We could dress up in those Mrs. Claus outfits. It'd be so fun." She let out a dreamy sigh.
"I love that idea." Said Jade.
Jesy was trying not to cringe. This would be embarrassing. "Yay." She said dryly.
Jake laughed at her. "The things we do for love eh?" He whispered in her ear. This granted him a hard punch in the shoulder.
Leigh-Anne suddenly stood. "I've got to use the washroom guys. I'll be back in a giffy." She skipped off.
They all watched as she went.
"It's really nice to see her looking so happy." Jake said as he sipped from his juice. "She seems to really appreciate what you're doing for 'er Jes." He nudged Jesy.
Jesy rubbed at her shoulder as she began to blush. "I don't know." She shrugged.
"She's being a lot more talkative now." Jade started. "Not too talkative of course but she speaks more. It's nice 'cause she's got a pretty voice." The girl giggled. "I like the way she talks."
"Me too. Did yous know that she likes dogs?" Perrie asked pulling out yet another cup of chocolate pudding.
Jake was blinking in astonishment. "How many of those does your mum pack you Pez?"
