Jesy felt her face heat as Jade kissed her toes and Perrie watched. Her foot was wrapped in a bandage and resting atop her desk on a pillow. Her mother had insisted that she bandage her ankle and foot since it had swollen up a bit the night before. Since her mom was an expert on this stuff, the woman could see that it was not a very bad sprain. She'd decided to treat it herself and send Jesy to school with a note for her teacher informing her of her situation.
"Does it feel better Jes?" Jade asked in her shy little voice where she was stood in front of her friend's desk. She felt bad that Jesy's ankle was sprained so wanted to help.
Jesy blushed with a frown. "Yeah, yeah, yeah it feels great. You can both sit down now." Her arms were folded.
"This wouldn't have happened if you'd come to my party on Saturday Jesy." Perrie said as she sat next to Jade, behind Jesy.
"What the hell are you talking about? I actually did come to your party you silly blonde." Jesy said rolling her eyes. She couldn't turn around to face them.
Jade and Perrie moved their chairs up to sit next to Jesy. "How did you get that sprain again Jes?" Jade asked looking at her friend's foot.
Jesy smirked. "Wouldn't you like to know." She said smugly.
"Yes she would. That's why she asked." Perrie said obviously. "Tell us Jesy."
Jesy rolled her eyes. "You two wouldn't understand." She said as the school bell rang. A frown grew on her face as she looked to where Leigh usually sat. "Hmmm she's late today."
"Or maybe she isn't coming to school. I hope she isn't sick." Jake said appearing in front of them as he moved to his seat.
"You're a freak Roche! Appearing outta nowhere most of the God damned time." Jesy said as everyone settled into their seats.
Jake laughed. "You swear as much as a sailor Jes. Soon you're gonna get in trouble for it." He took his seat behind her with a smile.
Mrs. Thomas entered the classroom with a pleasant expression and greeted them. After that she commenced her lesson.
Jesy kept looking at the door, expecting Leigh to show up. She was becoming paranoid as the minutes ticked by. What if Sairah killed her in her sleep or . . . or she totally molested the shit out of Leigh and Leigh had to stay home because she's traumatized. Oh God, Oh God, Oh God. She was thinking as sweat rolled down her face. She could tell that other students noticed her distress. She sat up as well as she could considering her foot situation. Keep it together Jes. You're cool. She turned to look at the pair of children a little behind her. "Mind your own business you losers." She said since they'd seemed to be staring at her.
"Okay now do some practice in your text books alright?" Their teacher said after she'd taught her lesson. She went to sit at her desk calmly.
Jesy bit her nails. Soon it would be break. Why wasn't her friend here? What was going on? She felt sick to her stomach. She looked at her teacher. Mrs. Thomas wouldn't be this calm if Leigh was in danger. Leigh's mother would have called her wouldn't she? She woulda called my Mum too. She thought trying to relax. Jesy gulped as she looked at the door.
"Be calm Jes. I'm sure she's fine." Jade whispered to her as the rest of the class did some classwork. She'd seen her friend panicking for basically the whole class. She had to admit that she was a little nervous as well. I hope she's okay.
Just then there was a knock on the classroom door and their teacher went to answer it. Leigh's mother came in holding Leigh's hand.
Jesy could have fainted with relief as the woman waved at the class with a smile and told Leigh to say good morning.
