Jesy pushed her brother's laptop away from her in a huff. "Why do all of these hot air balloon ride companies require an adult to schedule an appointment?" She asked angrily where she sat on her bedroom floor before folding her arms.
Jake laughed where he was sat next to her. "Because ten year olds aren't responsible Jes." The boy said. It was Saturday morning and he'd come to her house to help her with Science homework. He was her Science tutor after all.
Jesy growled at him. "Why are you here again?" She asked closing the laptop. "I don't remember inviting you over."
Jake smirked. "I came to help you with some Science homework. Your Mum told me you were having trouble with the questions on page eighty-five."
"Ew." Jesy said. "I was not having trouble with anything. In fact, I'm all done with my homework." She stood up and walked to her bed then pulled out her Nintendo game from under her pillow.
Jake followed her. "Well let me check on it for you then. It's supposed to be graded. I don't want you to end up failing if everything is wrong Jes."
Jesy rolled her eyes. "So you barge into my house just to call me stupid?" She asked sassily. "I feel like kicking your ass out."
Jake laughed. "You won't do that. Now come on. Show me that assignment."
Jesy smirked. "It's at Leigh-Anne's house. Me and her did it together over there the same day we got it." She stuck her tongue out at him.
Jake was surprised. "You actually willingly did homework? Leigh-Anne is a miracle worker." He was nodding now. "Wait, doesn't Leigh have a crazy dangerous older sister at home? I heard you were going over there a lot. Why hasn't she hurt you?"
"Sairah hasn't tried to hit either of us. She's hardly there when I am. The last I'd seen her, she was giving Leigh advice on how to deal with bullies. She gave pretty good advice." Jesy said opening her game.
Jake giggled. "Is that why Leigh called that girl a pixie? That was hilarious. She's gotta work on her smack talk."
Jesy frowned. "You were one of the dorks who laughed her to tears?" She growled.
Jake put his hands up in defense. "It was funny. I didn't expect her to cry. She's so sensitive." He said the last sentence softly. "I still need to apologize though. I should get the rest of our class to apologize too. It's not a good feeling to have the whole class laugh at you first thing in the morning." He rubbed at his arm.
Jesy sighed. "Yeah it sucks. I wish those dumb girls would stop picking on her. Especially when I'm right there. They're so disrespectful." She folded her arms. "And they wonder why I bit one of them." She laughed evilly. "Detention was worth it."
Jake patted her on the back. "Too bad you have it 'til next Wednesday." He said with a shake of the head. "Mrs. Thomas said that you'd have to stay back after school next week. How are you gonna visit Leigh's house for dinner then?"
Jesy groaned a bit. "I guess I'll have to ride my bike to school then use it to ride to her house afterwards. I still need to keep an eye on everything over there." She pouted a little. "I just wish that Sairah was there more. I wanna see how she interacts with Leigh. Leigh told me that she's been locking her room door at night so she can't get in and freak her out."
"If she's molesting Leigh then she still needs help as far as I'm concerned." Jake said watching Jesy turn her game on.
"I don't know if we should call it that. She's never touched down there if you know what I mean. Just likes Leigh's boobs . . . even though she's as flat as a board." Jesy snickered.
