Cheryl's POV

"Hi, Jazz," I said as I pulled up a chair next to Jane. She was sat in a chair in front of her easel, painting away a beautiful picture of some flowers.

"Hi." She said and looked at us before putting her gaze back on the flowers.

"Could you do us a favor?" I asked and watched her brush stroke the canvas. I don't know how she does it, but her paintings are just so beautiful.

"Depends." She said and put her brush down. Jane finally gave us all her attention and turned her chair to face us.

"Well, I want to get Kimba a special present this year. I don't want it to be some expensive jewelry or anything like that. I want it to be made from the heart..." I explained and wasn't sure how to ask Jane the real question.

"Right." She said and waited for us to go on.

"So, I was thinking that maybe you could paint her a picture for us...?" I shrugged me shoulders and she just smiled at us.

"Wouldn't that be a gift from me?" She asked, asking the question I was afraid of. I know she's painting it, but I want Kimba's present to be special.

"Well, I want you to paint a certain thing," I told her and she nodded along.

"Okay, shoot." She said and sort of left us speechless.

"I don't know yet."

"How can you not know yet?" She asked, making us sound like a complete fool for not knowing.

"I don't know, I can't think of anything she loves enough to get her a painting of it," I said and Jane nodded like she understood.

"Listen, I'll paint something and you can put your name on it-" She began as she turned back to face her painting. But, I don't know if I can just take credit for something she did by herself.

"But-" I began to tell her that I can't let her do that, but this time she cut us off.

"No, I've got it. This is the least I can do to repay you." She said and I gave her a confused look.

"Repay us for what?" I asked and she turned her legs and body to face us completely.

"You know, everything. Letting me live here, bringing me in, loving on me, all that stuff." She went on and I couldn't help but get a bit emotional.

"Aww, that's so sweet-" I said and covered me eyes with me hand.

"Don't cry." She gently reached over and moved me hand. She giggled at the tears almost coming down me cheeks. I laughed with her and wiped me eyes.

"Sorry, that was just so nice of you," I said as I sniffled and tried to pull meself together.

"I try my best." She said and we both laughed. I stood up and held me arms open for her. She mirrored me actions and hugged us.

"Kimba will be home for lunch soon, so just clean up and come downstairs in a few, okay?" I told her as I let a hiccup come out. She smiled at us and picked up her paint brush again.

"Okay." She responded and I left her room. Once I got into the hallway, I wiped me eyes with the back of me hands.

God, why am I such an emotional person?

"Is all this really necessary?" Jane asked as she pushed around the trolley with all of the school supplies Kimberley is throwing in.
