I honestly shouldn't have to post something like this, but there's apparently quite a bit of scummy people here on Wattpad and I figured why not us the nearly 60K views on this book to my advantage?

PLAGIARISM IS NOT OKAY. It's illegal, actually.

And while I'm not aware of any cases of it happening to me on this profile (it's happened to me on a different profile before, and if you something anything similar to my work other than what I've allowed misty-chaos to post, please let me know) it has happened a lot recently to people I know and that's not fucking okay.

You inspired by someone's work? Can't write a certain scene on your own? Cool.  Ask for help or advice. But copying and pasting their work and just changing names and little things isn't fucking okay. It's ILLEGAL.

I can't stress enough that's it's NOT FUCKING OKAY.

People on here work hard for the content they give you. Stealing it and claiming it as your own does not make you a good author, your views are not your views. You don't deserve them. You didn't work for them.

Just because this is online, and they aren't professionally published books does not mean you can steal their plots, their ideas, or entire fucking scenes from their book. It's still ILLEGAL.

I mean for fucks sake people, this is common sense.

If you can't write something of your own and you don't want to ask for help, then don't publish anything at all.

And if you ever see someone stealing a plot/story line/OC's/entire scenes, SAY SOMETHING. You won't be considered mean. You'll be doing the right thing. Don't go out accusing. Obviously check the dates in which things were published, check thoroughly and make sure, but do not let it slip over your head and let those inconsiderate people to continue stealing work that some actual author stressed over for hours. Speak up. Even if privately at first. Say something. Whether to the person stealing or the original author.

Just be a decent human on here. No one deserves to have credit for their hard work given to someone else.
