Carina's P.O.V
I was sitting in the tunnels underneath Hogwarts waiting for George to get here. I had to pull my jacket closer to me to keep out the freezing mid December air that slipped into the passageways. I sighed hoping that George would be here with the my tea soon. This is how George and I had taken to spending any time we got with each other, the tunnels provided a place where we didn't have to worry about being caught.

"Hello there beautiful," breathed a voice against my ear. I jumped and turned around to see who it was and let out a sigh of frustration and relief to see it was George.

"George you scared me," I said hitting him on the arm.

He chucked and handed me my coffee "Did I? Well my sincerest apologies," he said wrapping an arm around my waist while his other hand held his coffee.

"You really are ridiculous," I said allowing myself to be pulled against his chest. He only chucked some more and dipped his head down to mine in a gentle kiss. I moved in closer to him thankful for the heat his body provided. We pulled apart and sat on the cold stone steps of the tunnel.

"Have you heard about the Yule Ball?" I asked taking a sip of my tea.

"Yes," he said slowly not sure where I was taking the conversation.

"Who are you going with?" I asked.

George nearly spit out his coffee and looked at me like I had grown another head "Excuse me?" He asked picking up a napkin to clear up the coffee he had spilled, I couldn't help but laugh at his frantically shocked demeanor.

"Well we can't go with each other, so who are you going with?" I repeated.

"I haven't really thought about it. I suppose I wasn't planning on going,"

"You can't not go. It'll look suspicious," I argued.

"Your overthinking things," he dismissed.

"George," I said giving him a stern look in the eye.

"Alright, alright," he said lifting his hands in surrender, "tell me all about your grand scheme for the ball,"

"It's not a scheme," I muttered and he chuckled, "The only reason nobody knows about us is because the Gryffindors and the Slytherins don't talk to each other, they haven't been able to connect your random disappearances and my random disappearances. Everyone is going to be there so if both of us are gone they might be able to put two and two together," I explained.

"So you think we should go with fake dates?" He questioned.

"Well it would look even more suspicious if we were the only two there without dates. Honestly I thought all of this was obvious," I said.

He scoffed "Alright than who would you like to be my fake date to the ball than?"

"I don't care, just pick someone believable," I shrugged.

"I think that can be arranged, you know before we started dating I was thinking of asking Fiona Thompson out," He said casually. He must have noticed me shooting dagger at him because he laughed and pulled me closer to him, "jeez I'm kidding,"

"It wasn't funny," I muttered trying to fight the smile that was beginning to creep onto my face.

"If I'm being forced to bring a fake date than who are you going with?" he asked.

"Probably Pucey or Montague , maybe if Warrington asks me I'll go with him. And there's always Nott or Marcus Flint," I said and he scrunched up his face.
