I'm taking longer than I expected to write the next chapter. I had written this a while ago just for fun and didn't really think I was going to publish it but since it'll be a while until you get the next chapter I figured I would throw you guys a bone.

Enjoy!

Carina's P.O.V

"How are you so good at this?" Wailed George after he lost yet another match of Wizards chess. He had taken to bringing the game with the usual coffee, a decision I think he had started to regret after he still hadn't won a game after three dates of nothing but brutal competition.

I shrugged "I've had a lot of practice,"

He pointed an accusing finger "It's you; you and your womanly charms are throwing me off my game,"

"From what I've seen you didn't really have much game to begin with," I said with a grin.

He leaned across the board and our lips were almost touching, I could feel his body heat in the humid air of an all too fast approaching summer "Why you-" He cut off into a yelp and pulled back abruptly. The chest pieces had taken too kindly to being leaned over and had driven their staffs or whatever they possesed into his stomach. I was sent off into laughter as he rubbed his abdomen achingly.

"If it makes you feel any better I'm terrible at cards,"

"Really?" He questioned skeptically.

"No," I admitted.

He laughed and shook his head "I've never seen anyone play like you do. You might even be better than Ron,"

"I wouldn't doubt it. I'm quite skilled you know,"

"Oh believe me," He said pushing the chess board out of our way "I know,"

Before I could say anything his mouth was on mine and his hands were on my hips pulling me closer to him on the smooth stone floor. These kisses never failed to light me up and leave me feeling like I was buzzing.

"George," I gasped as his mouth trailed across my jaw line and brushed the edges of my neck. His mouth returned to mine and I reached a hand up to tangle in his hair. I leaned my body even closer to his, desperate to feel as much of him as I could.

"Oh um I uh I can come back later," George and I sprang apart and both breathed a sigh of relief that it was only Hermione standing in the tunnels looking away as if we were half naked.

"Blimey Hermione, could you have any worse timing?"

"Sorry," She squeeked embarassed "I just heard you mention you were meeting up with Carina tonight, and well I wanted a second opinion on the astronomy homework and Ron and Harry were obviously useless and Astronomy is one of your best classes," She rambled, she looked between us in our slightly dissheveled state "But I can come back later,"

I sighed and straightened my skirt "No it fine, let me see it,"

George made a disgruntled noise at having our date interrupted but moved aside and let Hermione lay out her star chart and parchment between the two of us.

"So for the constellations in the sky on Wednesday it was just Puppis and Pyxis right?"

I shook my head "You missed Carina,"

"How did I miss Carina? It has Canopus, it's the second brightest star in the sky,"

"Well our Carina is hands down the  brightest," Said George who had been looking on our astrological musings with mild amusement. I blushed and rolled my eyes.

"That's right. Carina the keel and Draco the dragon. That's a Black family tradition right?" She must have noticed my slight surprise that she knew that. After all she was a muggle born and I wouldn't expect her to have that kind of extensive knowledge about the wizarding world "It's mentioned in a few books about the sacred 28," She paused again "That is correct isn't it?"

I nodded "I'm a Black on my mothers side," I said briefly not wanting to talk to much about my family.

"That means you're related to Sirius then," Hermione nodded her head a few time as if counting off number in her head "You're his first cousin one removed,"

"Sirius Black? I guess I can add him to my long list of dissapointing family members,"

They both gave me an odd look and after a moment Hermione finally spoke up "Because of the Gryffindor thing?" She asked sounding both hurt and surprised.

"No, because of the mass murderer thing,"

"Oh, you don't know then," Said Hermione sounding surprised.

"Know what?"

"I just figured that your parents would have-never mind," She said cutting herself off "I just meant that Sirius isn't the bad guy. It was Peter Pettigrew who did all those things, giving away the Potters and killing all those people. Sirius was blamed for it,"

I overcame the initial shock to realize that one of my murderous relatives wasn't actually murderous and realized what she had said. The part where she alluded to the idea that I would know this because of my parents strong connections with another murderous psychopath.

"Believe it or not my parents aren't exactly chatty about their time in the death eaters " I said trying to keep the sting out of my voice. I didn't want them to think I was upset with them even if I was just a little bit.

"I'm sorry," Said Hermione "I didn't mean it that way," I knew what she meant by 'that way.' She had made it sound as if I had secrets and loyalties with the death eaters which I most certaily did not.

"It's fine, it's all in the past,"

Hermione opened her mouth but was interrupted by George letting out an over exagerated yawn and bringing his arm around my shoulders which I really didn't mind "Just like I wish this conversation was. 'Mione I don't know if you recall but Carina and I were in the middle of something before you came in,"

I rolled my eyes and Hermione's cheeks turned a vibrant pink "Right yes well um you two have fun," She said before dashing off down the hall. I think she may have expected George and I to continue where we left off as soon as she turned her back.

I turned to face George hoping that we could continue but was instead met with gentle but serious eyes "You're alright?" He asked drawing me in a little closer.

"Why wouldn't I be?""

"Because of what we said. Neither of us really mean it that way. I'm sorry,"

I looked into his endless brown eyes and any trace of anger I had been holding onto completely vanished "I'm not made of glass you know,"

He cracked a small smile "Good. Because if you were I wouldn't be able to do this," He grabbed my waist and pulled me against his chest making me gasp before brining our lips together in a white hot kiss. And just like that everything else in the world melted away. Houses, and blood status, and families that didn't approve didn't matter anymore. Nothing mattered except the way George's lips felt against mine and they way he was holding my waist and the pure unfiltered love I had for him.
