A Little Bit of Last Minute Fun

"Can you believe it Kyoya? Just five more days and Bam!" I lifted my hands up in the air for emphasis, "its new years." He laughed and I laughed with him. So we were on the bus heading to the middle of town to see how the new years decorations were being set up. Kyoya had suggested that we celebrate there while people preform and the count down goes on. I thought this was a great idea. So we had left the rest of the guys at home [bad move huh] and went, just the two of us. Finally we arrived.

The bus stopped at one of the bus stops and we hopped out. I had always admired this part of town for how all the shops had interesting little nick nacks and how you could almost smell the fresh bread from the bakery. I loved how there were always lights flashing here, Christmas or not. [Basically just imagine down town is San Antonio but twice as awesome and youve got it.] So we passed all the cute shops talking and laughing while holding hands. We passed a candy shop and Kyoya bought me a cake pop and got himself some pocky sticks.

"This is so nice" I noted. He nodded, "Yeah. I guess at times people need a break from the high class and fanciness of it all." I laughed and took a bite out of my snack. We then made it to where the celebration was going to be held and I could see that it was going to be fun. Some construction workers were hauling needed materials around while some set designers had come out all this way just to make sure that the middle of town would be the loudest and the brightest. "I can wait" i mumbled, looking around.

Kyoya took me in his arms, "Me neither, I have something special planned." I laughed and suggested we go to the pizza parlor a few blocks down. "How about it?" I asked. He hesitated, "I dont know. Pizza is definitely not my favorite."  I rolled my eyes, "What the hell happened with, 'sometimes people need a break from the fanciness'?" He glared then sighed, "Fine." I smiled and lead him to the restaurant. There were humongous crowds of people the deeper we got into town so I held on to Kyoya tightly.

I tried not to frown at the looks we received since we were dressed better than a lot and Kyoya was so handsome. Bottom line is, we didnt belong here. So after a few minutes we got to the parlor. I marched up to the entrance and the bell rung cheerfully. I let Kyoya go sit and wait as I ordered the pizza. When they knew what I wanted, I went to our seat. Now dont get me wrong, Im not saying im the jealous type but when I saw how many looks he was getting from other cute girls I got a little defensive.

I sat in front of Kyoya who was just reading the news paper. "Kyoya? Look up will you." I asked. He did and I stood to stretch across the table to give him a nice kiss on the lips. He frowned as I sat back down and glanced around. To my satisfaction more than half of the girls had looked away and were now acting as if they had never started staring. "What was that?" he asked. I shrugged, refusing to look him in the eye. He opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by our number being called. I silently thanked God and stood to get the food.

I sat back down and put the pizza on the table. "Voila! Pizza. Please dig in" I smiled. We did and I skillfully avoided the topic of the random kiss by talking about how we would get back home and when we would leave the ski resort. "Probably a day after the new years party" he responded after finishing his last slice. I nodded, "Good." then swallowed my last bite of pizza. I threw away our trays and said good bye to the lady at the counter. She gasped and shouted, "Wait hold on wait!"

My eyes widened as she ran to me. "Yes ma'am?" I asked. "Can you sing?" she pursed her lips hopeful. I scratched my head, "Uh...a little. Why?" She explained that the band that was supposed to come at 2:00 bailed out and she needed someone to sing anything for free. I thought and Kyoya told me, "Go ahead. We're not in a rush." I thought about it then shrugged and answered, "Sure." She grinned and helped me up to the stage. Kyoya sat down to watch me.

Everyone turned to watch and I started shaking a little. I gripped the mic and requested the well known song Papermoon. I started loud and proud really getting into it. Everyone clapped in rhythm. I grinned and sang while stomping my feet. I made the mistake of opening my eyes and seeing two girls talking to Kyoya. I tried to not worry myself about it much. But as the song went on I noticed them laughing and I couldnt ignore it. The band members looked puzzled at my actions of worry.
