[Emery]

I woke up to Dean lightly shaking me awake.

"Hey, babe," he kissed my cheek.

"Hey," I said sleepily and smiled.

"So, Sam and I have been up for a while, and we caught a lead on a case," Dean said. "We're just gonna go check it out. It's probably nothing, but it's only an hour away."

"Give me ten minutes," I said, starting to get up.

"Wait, just hang back, Em," he said. "Sam and I are gonna handle this one. You should stay here and have a day to yourself, relax a bit."

"No, I'm coming," I insisted.

"Babe," Dean said seriously. "I think a day away would do us both some good, ya know? Just take a day, rest, have the whole Bunker to yourself. No Sam and I bugging you. And then I get to spend some time alone with my brother. I love you, but Sammy and
I's relationship's been strained lately and I feel like we just need some time. It'll help all three of us."

I felt disappointed for a moment. We've hardly been together for three days and he needs a break?

"I don't need the break from you, if that's what you're thinking. But I just think I just need some air from all of this, just for the day." He elaborated.

"Oh... okay," I shrugged and hide my disappointment. "No, go spend time with Sam, I get it." And I did, really. I just didn't know why they had to go on a case together to bond or whatever. They spend a lot of time alone together as it is.

"It's a standard salt and burn 'em case," Dean said. "We should be back by tomorrow afternoon. I'll text and call you. Just get some rest, focus on yourself for a day."

"Okay," I said. "That's fine. Be careful, alright?"

"Of course, babe," Dean leaned in and passionately kissed me. "Wouldn't wanna lose a single minute of this."

I smiled a bit. "Good,"

"There's fresh coffee and bacon in the kitchen, and Sam just bought some new cereal. It's in the cabinet." Dean said as he began walking out of the bedroom. "I love you,"

"Love you too," I replied with a slight smile, even though I was pretty irritated on being left out of a case.

He walked away for a moment, then turned around to say something else.

"And babe, please, don't think this is anything about us. I love this relationship thing. I'm obsessed with it, with you. I just think Sam and I need a day. I promise you, that's all there is to it."

"You just act like you're hiding something," I replied.

"There's nothing to hide," he said. "You just gotta trust me for twenty-four hours. Sammy and I got your best interest at heart. We love you."

"I trust you," I said. "But I want some elaboration later, alright? Go have your guys day out, get along with your brother, be safe and kick some ass."

Dean grinned. "God, how'd I end up with such a babe?"

I chuckled a bit.

"Seriously, I am lovin' this bedhead," he grinned, gesturing to my messy hair, and walked back over to me.
