Would this affect anything at all? I thought. This could either be a good thing or a bad thing. I thought back to the conversation I had earlier. Technically, I didn’t tell Danny anything. But he knew...

Does that guy know that Daniel knows?

Danny and I just stared at each other for a minute. It was silent in the room. I was worried that everyone in there would be able to hear my heart beating.

    “This is awful,” I whispered.

James came and sat next to me on the couch.

“He’s going to be ok. I’m sure he’s around here somewhere...” Jamie tried to smile at me.

“I need to call Greyson,” I mumbled, standing up and leaving Jamie with his false hope behind.

I walked through my bedroom and out onto the porch. I picked up my phone that I had thrown and dialed Greyson’s number. He picked it up on the first ring this time.

“Rachel? Did you find him?!” He sounded worried.

“No, I- I’m sorry for hanging up earlier. I got-” I stopped myself. I was so used to telling Greyson everything... this was going to be harder than I thought.

    “You got what?” Greyson asked.

“Nothing. I just thought I saw him. But I didn’t.”

“Do you want me to come home?”

I thought for a second. I wanted him home terribly bad, but everything would just be twice as hard to do. Especially since I have no idea what these tasks are...

“No. I mean yes, but not now. I mean... I’m sure he’ll show up soon. Just try to focus on your tour... if that’s possible.. and then come home after a couple shows.”

    “Are you sure?” He asked.

    “Positive.”

“...Is there something you’re not telling me?” He asked, suspicious. Obviously he knew me better than I thought. Even over the phone.

“No.” I said too quickly. “No,” I repeated, quieter.

    “Rachel..”

“I gotta go. I’ll call you if anything happens.”

    “All right. I love you.”

    “I love you too.”

    “Bye,”

“Bye,” I whispered as he hung up.

I walked back inside the house, leaving my phone on the table by my bed. I had just reached the kitchen when the front door opened. Cody walked in quietly. He frowned at me.

“Greyson called and wanted me to see if you were ok.” He said shortly.

I didn’t hesitate. I ran to him, throwing my arms around him. I allowed myself to cry, safe in my best friends arms. He hugged me and stayed quiet for a minute before pulling away.

“Don’t cry your heart out.” He half smiled at me. I gave him as much of a smile as I could manage before pulling him over to the living room.

Danny and Jamie both said hi to him before they all turned their attention back to the conversation they were having.

They called the cops. They were there within the next 20 minutes, completely scanning the place for any type of helpful evidence. When they asked me if I knew anything, I kept my mouth shut. Not allowing myself to give them any more information than I could slip out. My son’s life depended on me.

James went out and got Subway, trying to get me to eat something. I refused. Cody encouraged me too, sensing that I was going to go back into the “I’m not eating” spell that had taken over me when Greyson was in a coma. Which honestly, I might.

I walked up to Jeydon’s room, sitting on the floor. Coby was laying next to his blanket and teddy bear, whimpering. I turned my head and saw the little keyboard Greyson had gotten him laying on the floor. I couldn’t stay in there any longer. Knowing that some guy had walked into this very room and taken Jeydon away from me made me sick to my stomach.

I got up and walked down the stairs. I sat in the corner of the living room, staring out the window for the rest of the day wondering, Why do bad things always happen to us?

A/N Sorry this is so short and on the boring side!! I'll make up for it next chapter. (:
