We fell asleep after that. When I woke up nothing really happened. The phone didn’t ring all day. Jamie wasn’t home, apparently he met some girl at a coffee shop and they got along pretty well. Danny spent the day in the guest bedroom. I’m not sure what he’s doing, probably looking at plane tickets.

Greyson’s currently in the kitchen cooking. It was some asian thing apparently. He wouldn’t give me many details and continuously told me it was a surprise and I’d love it.

I curled up on the couch in a blanket and turned on the TV. The first thing I saw was my face on the screen.

“Oh god,” I mumbled.

The girl on the screen in a tight red dress held papers in her hand and stood next to a guy, “Is singer/songwriter Greyson Chance’s wife pregnant for the second time? Rachel Chance was spotted outside of a bank just the other day with what appears to be a baby bump! Neither Rachel or Greyson have confirmed or denied these claims.”

“Have you heard the news about their son, Jeydon?” The man standing next to her asked. A picture of Jeydon on his second birthday appeared on the screens behind them. They continued to show pictures as the girl talked.

“I have!” The girl exclaimed, “It has been confirmed that their two year old son Jeydon Chance is missing. They haven’t seen him in over a week. The police have been notified and a search is now in progress. The boy was stolen out of his home in the middle of the night while Rachel was asleep. Greyson left his tour in Asia early to be with his family through this rough time,”

“Such a shame,”the boy added. Within seconds the girls facial expression changed as they moved from Jeydon to a rumor about some couple cheating on each other.

I looked up and saw Greyson in the kitchen. His eyes met mine for a second before he looked back down. I watched him cook for awhile. It always surprised me how different he is now. He got taller, much taller. He was skinny but not the the point where it was unhealthy like it used to be. His arms finally have some muscle on them, but just barley. He likes to pretend he’s tougher than he really is and arm wrestle with Cody. He only wins when Cody let’s him.

He still wore band t-shirts all the time and he’s got four different pairs of converse in the closet, but that’s just Greyson. I couldn’t picture him in anything else. I wouldn’t want to.

His face was no longer babyish. It had thinned out to be incredibly sexy. If you looked at a picture of him from 2011 and a picture of him now you wouldn’t know it was the same boy. He has a sharp jawline, even better than it used to be. Which I honestly didn’t think was possible.

He looked up again and caught me staring at him. He smiled and went to the oven before walking through the dinning room and into the living room.

“Hey,” he laid down on the couch with his head on my lap.

“Hello,” I smiled at him and brushed the hair from his forehead.

He reached his arm up and poked my arm. I laughed and looked at the TV again. I felt another poke on my arm.

Poke. Poke. Poke. Poke.

I attempted to keep a straight face and look at the TV.

Poke. Poke. Poke poke.

“Yes, Greyson?” I sighed giving in. I looked down at him.

He grinned, “I love you!”

I smiled at him, leaning down to kiss him I whispered, “I love you too.”

He closed his eyes and turned to his side so he was now facing me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and sighed.

“Is it just me, or is your belly bigger now than it was with Jeydon this far along?” Greyson asked, he was peeking out with one eye.

“I think it is,” I shrugged, “I’m not really sure,”

“I hope it’s a girl,” he smiled.

I smiled back, “Me too.”

“We should name her Alaska,”

I looked down at him, “Are you being serious?”

“That depends, will being serious get me in trouble?”

I laughed, “I love Alaska Young, but do you think it’s wise to name our daughter after a sex loving teenager who drinks and smokes? What happens when she wants to know where her name came from?”

Greyson laughed, too, “Alright, no Alaska. But I do think she should be named after someone.”

“Someone like who?” I asked him.

“Well,” he thought for a second, “It can’t be just anybody. It has to be someone...special.”

“Like?”

“Like Lily,” He said simply.

I stared down at him. He sat up slowly and scooted closer to me.

I leaned my head on his shoulder, “Lily sounds perfect.”

-------------------------------------------------

I was sitting on the couch about an hour after Greyson had gone to bed, flicking through channels when I saw Greyson on the screen. It was the TV special they had done about his life. I sat and watched as they showed clips of him touring and doing meet and greets. It started with clips of him on Ellen and slowly worked up to a year ago when this was made.

It wasn’t until they mentioned the Waiting4u Tour that I realized how dumb I had been. How completely obvious this whole thing was. I had been thinking too hard and reading too far into the question when the answer was right in front of my face.
