Lillie cries into my chest, as I hug her comfortingly. Even Bill looks shaken, as Giovanni's remains are disposed of into a body bag. Luckily, Lillie had her eyes closed when he pulled the trigger, but she is still shocked with the end result.
"It's okay Lillie, he's in a better place now isn't he? Actually, he probably isn't but..." I say, screwing up the last part of the sentence. Sighing sorrowfully, I hold her close and gently stroke her hair.
"Shhhh, It's okay," I whisper, gently kissing her forehead.
"Unfortunate. However, this at least means that Team Rocket can't rise again. Erm... do you... want to head home, in a bit?" Bill asks. Lillie sniffles, and nods.
I don't seem to be too shaken about what happened. I've seen this before, as Moon led dead at my feet... just the thought coming into my head makes me want Giovanni to stand up so he can die again.
Lillie's having a hard time trying to stop crying, so I help her by wiping her tears away and then giving her a long kiss. She seems to like it, and I feel her breathing readjust as she calms down.
"Is that better?" I ask softly as our lips part. She takes a deep breath and hugs me again.
"Y-yes... thank you, Sun," she replies. We remain in a cuddle for a little while longer.
"Good. Ready to head home?" I ask. She looks into my grey eyes and nods, managing a smile.
"We... apologise for that, we're so sorry that you had to see that," says a police officer sorrowfully.
"It's ok. Thank you for helping us here, and thanks for taking care of Lusamine," I reply, Lillie still latched onto me.
"It's part of our job, sir. We will safely transport Mrs. Lusamine to Mr. Bill's home,"
"Thank you. Goodbye officer, and thanks again," I finish, before Bill, me and Lillie all head home to Bill's house."Home again, home again," Bill sings, as we step through the front door. "So, the room upstairs is where you two can sleep, okay? Lillie can show you," Bill says excitedly. "And please, make yourselves at home. I do believe we have some catching up to do, my old friend! Allow me to make refreshments," Bill says, heading over to his kitchen.
"Sun..." Lillie asks, as Bill is busy in the kitchen.
"Hm? What's wrong, Lillie?" I reply.
"You... I'm sorry to bring this up, but... you said about... your sister?" She whispers, anxiously. I sigh.
"Y-yeah. I've never told anyone before, but you're my girlfriend after all, so I will tell you, just please don't talk about this to anyone else..." I say. She looks up at me, her eyes sparkling.
"Of course I won't," she replies.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, leaning back on the sofa and staring forwards blankly at nothing in particular.
"I had a sister. Her name was Moon, and she was born the day after me. But... Giovanni killed her. Back when we lived in Kanto. When Team Rocket were on the rise, they attacked cities to spread terror and... Giovanni shot my sister in the face. She died next to me. I - I think you two would have been really good friends. But Giovanni... that bastard deserved to die." I whisper. Lillie has tears in her eyes as well, and she hugs me to comfort me.
"Sun... I'm.... s-so sorry," she whispers. Her eyes remain wide in shock in response to what I said.
"Don't be. None of it is your fault. But when he aimed that gun at you - I couldn't go through it again. I would never let anything like that happen to you..."
She nods, kissing me on my cheek.
"I love you," she whispers into my ear.
"I love you too, Lillie."
"I'm back! Drinks for you two," Bill announces, placing down glasses of lemonade on the table.
"Thank you, Bill," Lillie and I both say.
"No problem. Now, where to begin..."
We sit and talk for hours, Lillie and I talking about all of our adventures around the world and beyond. About me as a champion, about Ultra Space, about our relationship, about Lusamine..."So, Lillie, your mother's final operation is tommorow. She should then soon become stable enough to walk around and be like she used to be, yes?" Bill reminds.
"Ah, yes... so then hopefully we'll come back and live with you in Alola," Lillie says to me with a smile.
"Ah, here she is now!" Bill exclaims, rushing outside to greet Lusamine who has arrived via ambulance. Bill has to help Lusamine walk, and she smiles at us when she comes in.
"Hello, you two! Thank you so much, both of you... I'm so grateful for all that you just did," she says, weakly.
"It's ok. We're just glad it went to plan," I chuckle. Lillie helps her mother to sit down on Bill's sofa.
"So, you two are in a relationship now, I see? Congratulations!" Lusamine says, smiling happily at us both.
"How did you know?" Lillie gasps. Lusamine just chuckles.
"Lillie, I'm you're mother. I can read you like a book. There's also the fact that you're currently sitting in Sun's lap," She laughs.
"Ohhh, um... yes," Lillie giggles, blushing.
"And I'm really happy for you both! I couldn't think of a better couple," Lusamine continues, teasingly.
"Ok, ok, thank you mom..." Lillie says, desperately trying to stop her mother. Lusamine just giggles happily, looking at us both contently.
"And Sun... I really don't know what to say... last time we saw eachother was almost a year ago, where I nearly killed you both in Ultra Space... and now I'm still here breathing thanks to you... I'm so sorry for everything that I did... I can't... I don't know what to say..." she splutters, looking for the words, but I stop her.
"No, please. It's ok. I forgive you, and I completely understand what happened, and I wouldn't leave you for dead, even if you did almost kill us," I laugh.
"Th-thank you. I'm really glad you forgive me," she says.
"Cool. It's getting kind of late now, so... ready to head off to bed, Lillie?" I ask. She does look like she's about to fall asleep in my lap, and she nods wearily.
"Yeah, I'm getting quite tired."
We get up and say goodnight to Lusamine and Bill, before heading upstairs.
"Try not to keep us up too late, your mother does need to rest properly, remember?" Bill laughs.
"Ok, goodnight!" We both shout in unison back down at them. All we can hear then are Bills chuckles from downstairs. Lillie smiles and takes my hand, leading me to our room.
"So this is our bedroom. I've been sleeping here since I moved to Kanto," she explains, whilst jumping onto the bed.
"Nice," I say, taking off my shirt to prepare for bed. "Room for two?"
"Of course," she says, shuffling over in bed. I smile, and climb in next to her, and we embrace in a long kiss, mouth to mouth. She runs her hands down my sides as usual, and I roll over on top of her, still lost in the kiss. Her heartrate seems to pick up, and we continue to kiss for quite a while, before we fall asleep later, me still lying on top of Lillie.
