The Scrolls

Dear Menma and Naruto,

      Now that you two are older we wanted to make sure you know about your heritage. I gave this to Lord Third in order to give to you both when you come of age. I want you two to know I love you both very much. I may not be there to help you two grow or get stronger but know that inside your hearts, I was always watching over you. I know that Kushina has the Nine Tails in her and I suspect that someone is going to use your births to extract it from her. The seal is weakened dramatically during childbirth. She is strong but I don't think she will able to defend you while she is in labor. I know you two must be hurting that nobody told you sooner about your heritage. This was planned to make sure you were strong before you took my name, before you carried my burdens, before you fight my enemies. The following nine scrolls are cleverly called (by me because I am great at making up names) the Scrolls of Tails. Each "Tail" will hold riddles and make you perform tasks. With each completion the scroll will activate a piece of a key. Once each scroll is completed, this will lead you to a place for you and your brother to be happy forever. With this you'll become the greatest shinobi ever. Good luck boys. Your mother and I love you very much. I hope you two both surpass me. And surprise me boys. Surprise your father.

"Woah" Naruto choked while both holding back more tears and staring indepthly at the scroll. "There are nine of these. Nine riddles, I suck at riddles. Damnit" Naruto said while punching the ground.

"Come on Blondie. We can do this. Look at this. If we can decipher them and figure out what they mean then we get whatever he is promising us! Grab the second scroll. I'll whip up some tea and coffee and we will get started right away"

"Yo Menma, what if they aren't like we expect them to be. What if they were mean and nasty, what if Minato used Kushina, or what if they have some evil trap waiting for us!"

I walked to Naruto and hugged him. My face almost reached his shoulders at this point. Damn he is a lot taller than I am. "They were great people, believe it!" I said to calm him down. Then he opened the scroll once I gave him his tea.

"Okay so it says"

The Thunder God looks above
A village hidden in the trees
Stone in the mountain side
Protects those who mourn
A watchful eye is always shown
Left or right none shall know

"What the hell. Is this a poem?"

"Shut up Blondie. It must mean that the Hokage Rock is our first clue. Come on let's go!"

After that moment we finished our drinks and zoomed off to the first part of the riddle. We stood at the base of the mountain looking at our father. "Can you believe he's been here the whole time. I peed on his head before. Is that a bad thing or does he deserve it?" Naruto stated with glee. I shook my head before we made it to Lord Fourth, I mean Dad's, eyes. The eyes were actually a tunnel allowing for a person to fit inside them and and crawl. "Okay since there is two eyes, we each have to take one. I'll go left and you go right. If you find it just yell." I encouraged before making route down the tunnel.

It felt like I was crawling forever. Then I started to slip. I started to roll and tumble downwards as the slope kept increasing. Finally I halted to a stop by falling onto a floor. Two minutes later after regaining what happened I hear a scream. Naruto comes tumbling down behind me and crashed right into me. Once we got up we could see a dim blue light in the distance.
