Brothers in Arms

Our lives became normal again after a few weeks. But missions came piling up for Naruto and I. Multiple B and some A ranks due to our heritage it seemed. Special cases and recommendations also piled in. But along with that I got a summons to the Hokages office, it wasn't common for me to get these. Usually a mission that I needed to complete but those haven't been needed as my squad and I just got off another mission yesterday. I was asked to come in the next morning at 10. The night before was long and tiring due to Naruto making me come with him as all our friends went on a big group dinner. Thank god I had enough for Naruto's enormous stomach. He is basically eating for two "people".

My meeting came and I stood inside of an empty Hokages office. Getting to her place super early has always been my weirdest quality. I decided to take a seat and read some of the news papers. After finishing all those I was staring at the Hokages desk and out the windows. "This is really boring, I need soemthing to do while I wait. It's been 20 Minutes and she isn't normally this late." I cussed to myself for the long wait. I looked back over at her desk and stared at the huge stack of papers.

It was 11:00am by the time Lady Tsunade rolled in, she was wearing big sunglasses and a goofy straw hat. In her right hand she had a large water bottle and a fruit drink in her other hand. She was pale and I could tell she was way too hung over. The door was calmly closed behind she as she turned to look at me and my clones doing all her paper work for her. Everything in her room was spotless and cleaned, I vacuumed and swept, filed her papers for her, and I even dusted and shines the photos on the walls. I'm a freak I know.

"Did you do all this? I totally forgot about your meeting sorry, but thank you Menma."

I waved my hand in the air to tell her it was no problem, she sat down in her big green swirly chair and scooted it closer to her desk. She leaned down, mind you it was slower than a turtle, and opened up a drawer. Tsunade dropped a pack of papers on her desk and slid them over to where I stood. "This is a very big packet, what's the gist of this because I don't feel like reading." I said in a slightly annoyed tone. She looked up and shot me a death stare. No way in hell Im dealing with an angry Sannin.

I began to read the pack as a slight snoring was heard from Granny. The first few pages told of a mercenary group. The deeper I read the more I realized who it was about, the Akutsuki. The guys that kidnapped Gaara. According to their information there are 9 members left after that old lady, with Naruto and Sakuras help, killed Sasori of the Red Sand.

My eyes wondered and thought about the information over the years. We've found out the wishes to collect the Tailed Beasts, unknown to us is their motives. I've had a fair share of unwanted meeting with their members before. The red clouds are dead give away, these guys are strong and you can spot them a kilometer away. Got into a few scuffles and I barely got away with my life. We commonly had the same targets but they often got away with the kills.

My mission success rate is high but when it comes to those guys I'd usually rather avoid their contracts and take the loss. The further you read, the deeper and darker it makes this group. The secrets behind them must be insane. But I got to a point where it talked about a theory that they might be trying to gain money using these Beasts to start a war, making sure their involvement. I put the stack back down on her desk and she looked up and stared me in the eye.

"I'm sending you and Naruto to the Raikage. He has someone that he needs you and Naruto to meet. This is going to be kept on the low. You leave tonight at 02:00. No ifs or buts, no objections it's already been arranged. The travel takes a few days. So prepare yourself and tell Naruto about this. I didn't want him here because he is too damn loud. Now I'm going to sleep. Thank you and goodbye." She ended off by slowly falling back asleep.
