17. The Winner Is...

Ganondorf stands in first place on the podium, waving to everyone. I wave from second place and Toon Link from third. Ganondorf smiles and sticks his middle finger up at Link. Link smiles back and puts his middle finger up at Ganon.

It's like one big family. Except some people are dating. And some people are actually family. And some people hate each other. The rest are family. Or fuckin.

Lucas looks at me weirdly and then laughs. I laugh too. Everyone quiets down as Master Hand floats down from the ceiling. He waves.

"Hello, everybody." He... Says? Communicates telepathically? Who knows.

"I would like to personally congratulate Ganondorf on winning the first smash tournament of this year." Master Hand holds out his finger towards Ganon, who takes it and shakes it as if it were a hand.

"Congratulations to Ness, for coming in second place." I nod with a smile and shake his fingertip.

"Congratulations, Toon Link. For a newcomer, you've come a long way." Toon Link "ha"s and smiles.

"We had some good newcomers this year! Two of them came in 5th or higher place! Please give a hand to... Lucas!" Master Hand Indicates towards Lucas. He's looking around, a nervous but proud smile on his face.

Man, he's cute.

He sees me and waves.

"You, my friend, have done good." I tell him telepathically.

"It's all thanks to you." I hear.

The next few tournaments were very similar. I won the third one. Lucas has helped me a lot. Before I met him, everything was boring. There was nothing to do. The smash tournaments even got boring. I guess I was getting depressed.

But Lucas changed all that. He makes me happy. He managed to make me get a crush on him within a week. If that's not something special, I don't know what is.

Every time he does something, it amazes me. He does everything perfectly. And he actually likes me back. This is everything I want. This is everything I need.

I may be earthbound, but he takes me to the heavens.

"Ness, that was fucking horrible." Lucas says, shaking his head.

"You... Swore?" I ask in disbelief. He hugs me and sits in my lap.

"You'll never guess what I found." He says, giving me a peck on the cheek, ignoring my comment. I kiss him back.

"Matching sweaters?" I ask. He giggles before rubbing our noses together.

"Nooooooooo. You know how we have games made after us?" He asks.

"Yeeeaah?" I say.

"I found mine." He says, a grin creeping across his face. He holds up a Gameboy Advance and tucks it safely into my backpack. I kiss him.

We have to go home soon.
