Shared Moments (Ch.16)

Chapter 16

Savannah's POV

"What are you doing here?," I spat out the harsh words at my grandmother who was staring at me.

"The police told me this is the last time I'll see you because I'm going to prison for a long time."

Tears escaped her face but they didn't fool me. She started to laugh and said, "Now, you know you fucked up! You don't have anyone else but me and now, I'll be gone."

I started to cry, wondering how I would manage life without a guardian. A security guard walked in, seconds later and stood in the corner of the room.

"Well Savannah, I guess this is goodbye. The police told me to give you this." She passed me the keys to our house and walked out of the room, with the security guard following her behind.

"Savannah, I'm so sorry." Cameron leaned in to hug me and I held on him for a long time.

"Why is my life slowly crumbling down?," I said in between tears.

A nurse then walked in, and quietly asked Cameron to come speak with her privately.

He pulled away and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "Be right back," he said and left.

Cameron's POV

The nurse and I walked out of the room and went to the front desk. She handed me an envelope and said, "Give this to your mom and tell her to call when she makes up her mind.

"Ok, thanks."

"Cameron, is that your name?"

"Yes, did someone ask for me?"

The nurse shook her head and told me to sit.

"Cameron, Savannah doesn't have anyone that could take care of her at home. The doctors were wondering if you could take her home and stay with her there or let her live in your house if you don't mind."

I really wanted to say yes but I didn't want my mom to say otherwise. "Of course, but I'll have to talk to my mom about it."

"Thank you Cameron. Savannah is really lucky to have you. The doctors told me she will be able to leave the hospital in 30 minutes," the nurse said. She left and went inside another patient's room.

I walked over to Savannah's room but before I opened the door, I heard her praying. The words that she said lifted my heart.

Savannah's POV

While Cameron was talking to the nurse, I started to pray and thank God for everything.

"I know my past wasn't the best but I promise my future will be. Thank you for bringing my great friends, Cameron, Nash, and Anna to this world. My heart has fallen for Cameron and I am glad it did. I always wanted him to be in my life. I love him so much and I cant believe love feels like this. But, where will I go after I leave this hospital? I can go home but I'm not 18 yet. Please answer me God."

Tears escaped and then someone opened the door. Cameron walked in and smiled.

"Hey, you ok? What happened?"

"Nothing, Cam," I said, using the nickname I used to call him in first grade.

"Ok good. The nurse told me that you'll be able to leave the hospital in half an hour."

I sighed with relieved but asked, "But where will I go?"

Cameron walked over to my bedside and kissed my forehead.

"Don't worry, the nurse said I can take you home or you can go to your house and stay for a few days."

"Yes, thank you so much!" I grabbed him and leaned in for a kiss. His lips tasted like strawberries and I couldn't pull away. His hands were on my waist, then traveling back and forth on my body. The hairs on my body started to rise and I couldn't get enough.
