••Few Days Later••

I sat in my room, staring out the large window.

The warm cup of tea was in between my hands as I took small sips from it.

Ocassionally, I would hear cars pass by but other than that, the aprtment was dead silent.

Pages of my book were slowly shfting due to the gusty winds.

I blinked away some tears before they stained my sweater.

Rubbing my eyes, I reached over for my phone on the counter and checked the time.

1:37pm.

I had to go to work in half an hour and I wasn't even ready.

Quickly throwing my bag over my shoulder, I grabbed my car keys and phone and rushed inside the car.

---

"Savannah! What happened? I thought you were going to be late today," Caleb asked as I walked inside the beach shop.

"S-Sorry, I just needed some time," I lied, walking away from him.

I sat behind the counter, placing the bag underneath my feet.

"Hey, are you okay? You seem so.."

"Please, just for today, I don't feel like talking."

Caleb brought his hands up to his face, letting out an annoyed sigh.

"Alright, but if you need anything, just tell me."

He walked out of the shop, waving goodbye before I was left all alone in the shop.

-

"Savannah! We need to talk," I heard Caleb's voice yell from the storage room.

Taking small steps, I hopped off the chair and made my way over to him.

Once I reached him, I found him sitting on a chair with his phone in his hand.

"What do you need, Caleb?," I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"I want to talk to you. Are you alright?"

I spun on my heels, daring myself not to answer Caleb's question.

"Savannah! Get back here!"

Hot tears blurred my vision as I walked out of the shop, running.

Running to where? I had no idea. But I needed fresh air.

But most importantly, I needed company.

I sat behind the boardwalk near the sand, hiding away from Caleb.

The tears hit my knees each time I blinked them away.

"Savannah! Where are you? Please talk to me. What's wrong?"

I heard Caleb heavy footsteps approached the boardwalk as I sniffled in the tears.

My lips began to quiver once Caleb's gray eyes met mine from behind.

"Sav, why are you crying? Did I do something?"

Turning towards him, Caleb's thumb wiped away my tears which removed a lot of my makeup.

"Hey, do you want to talk?"

Nodding, Caleb's arms wrapped around my trembling body as he sat down on the sandy beach with me.

"Savannah, is this about Sofia leaving?," Caleb's soft voice asked.

A single tear slid down from my smudgy eyes as I slowly nodded again.
