It's been five years. I lost my house and everything I own. I even lost Austin. Someone I really cared about. I looked out of the glass door into the back yard. The house was bought by the Association and given to us. Thanks to Xavier. Jhonny was seven and growing up fast. He was running around with Mark and Maggie picked flowers. Rose was talking with Gabe. Haley and Sasha had left for a mission and would be back in the morning. They'd been gone almost a week now. Richard figured it was time to leave so he did. He now has a job and his own apartment. I sighed.
" Rebecca! Come on out!" Jhonny called as he ran to the glass door.
" I will in a minute I was just checking on you. The picnic is almost ready." I said and smiled to him. He turned and went back to Mark. I walked back to the fridge and opened it. We've lived in peace for five years. The first two I don't remember. I wasn't myself. I had just lost everything. I the recovered with Gabe and Sasha's help. I had dreams about the fire and Austin. They are less and less freak went. But they still have me waking up and losing sleep.
" Rebecca? Are you doing okay in here?" Gabe asked walking in. He leaned against the marble counter and I nodded.
" I'm just trying to find something to carry the drinks in." I said and closed the fridge. " How's Rose?"
" She said her semester starts back in a few months and that she has one more year in collage. Then she's going to find her career in plants. Big shocker there right?" He asked laughing and pushed his glasses back up him nose.
" Very. What's the word with Haley and Sasha?"
" They'll be home tomorrow. After we leave. So they have to miss the first day then they'll drive up." He said shifting the weight of his leg. " Any calls from Richard?" Gabe asked and he walked over to me.
" No. He is busy with his girlfriend and touring Paris." I said and huffed. Gabe chuckled
" He's 20 Rebecca. He's not a little kid anymore. "
" I know. But still. Here grab the basket and the bags and carry them to the car. I mean it's Jhonnys 8th birthday tomorrow! He could at least call and say happy birthday!" I said and Gabe grabbed the bags and started luging them out the door.
" Becca!!!!!" I heard Jhonny as he ran to me. He hugged my legs.
" Are you ready for our trip?" I asked as I hugged him back.
" Yeah!! We're gonna have so much fun!!!! We're going to fish in the lake and swim and have a bonfire and-"
" Hey Becca! Where are the sleeping bags?"
" In the van already!" I called back. I looked back to Jhonny. He was looking back outside. " Why don't I make some cookies for the road?" I asked and Jhonny looked back at me.
" Really!!! That would be great Becca!!" He smiled and then Mark ran to the back door.
" Jhonny come quick I found a snake!" Jhonny spun around and ran after Mark. I heard Maggie scream and I started laughing.
" Are you ready?" Gabe asked as he walked back to grab the other bags.
" Yeah." I said. I grabbed a few bags and followed after.
" How about we go get some cake and ice cream and have a party tonight?"
" That's a great idea Gabe! I'll tell Rose we'll be back and then we'll have it in the backyard." I said adding on.
" And then We'll be the big surprise everyone's talking about." I heard someone say and I spun to see Sasha and Haley standing side by side. They both were wearing black with their hair down. If it wasn't for their eye or hair color you couldn't really tell them apart.
" Oh my goshhh!!" I gushed and gave them both a hug.
" We missed you too." Haley said and hugged me back.
" Can we go? I want to eat." Gabe said and I pulled back from hugging Sasha and Haley.
" Let's go." I said " Last ones to the cars a rotten egg!!!" And I teleported.
