I looked over and saw Rebecca had fallen asleep. I smiled and looked back to the road. I turned into the drive way and turned off the car. I opened my door and got out of the car. I walked to Rebecca's side and opened her door. I unbuckled her and picked her up. She frowned then her face went smooth again. I smiled and carried her into the house.
" Alph-!"
" Shush." I said in a warning tone. Haley covered her mouth and looked to see Rebecca asleep in my arms.
" Go get the thins from the car." I said and Haley nodded. I walked into the kitchen and Sasha was reading. She looked up to see who entered the kitchen.
" So you guys are a thing!" She said and I rolled my eyes.
" No. We're not. Now go help Haley." I said and she stood up and left. I looked down to see Rebecca was frowning again this time it was worse. She started to shake.
" Rebecca?" I asked moving her slightly. She didn't wake up. I sighed. I carried her upstairs. I saw Jhonny in the hall walking towards the stairs.
" Hey Jhonny! Would you open her door?" I asked in a whisper. Jhonny walked to her room and opened the door.
" Is she okay?" He asked.
" Oh yeah she just fell asleep in the car." I said and Jhonny smiled. His dimples showing.
" Okay. I was worried." He said as I moved past him into her room. I pulled back the covers and laid her down. I took off her shoes and pulled the covers up to her neck. Her face formed a frown and then her vase across the room fell to the floor. I looked over to the vase and then back to Rebecca. Her face was peaceful and her mouth was in the shape of a little o. I stood up and walked back out into the hall and closed her door. Jhonny was gone and I went back downstairs. I walked into the kitchen and all the bags were on the counter. Sasha and Haley were talking.
" They have to be in-" Sasha was saying and Haley cleared her throat. Sasha spun around and saw I was standing there.
" Get this all put up and hid. Until we get to work." I said and they complied. I grabbed the cake boxes and put them above the stove. Sasha and Haley got done before me and went into the living room. I finished with the last toy and I sat back in a chair. I leaned back and closed my eyes.
" Gabe?"
" Yeah." I said and heard them walk in.
" Are you trying to sleep?"
" No I'm just resting." I said and opened my eyes. Rose was standing in front of me.
" Oh well I wanted to know if you'd help me with something.." She asked and bit her lip.
" Of course." I said and got up. She smiled.
" Okay. I need a ride to our old house." She said.
" Uh okay. If I can ask why?"
" There's something there." She said and I raised an eyebrow.
" Like?"
" It's something that will make everyone happy. I just need to go."
" Okay. But it's a two hour drive back. And right now it's.." I looked at the clock. " almost 12." I said and looked back to her. She nodded.
" I know. I was going to ask sooner but you went to the store with Becca."
" Ah. Let's go then." I said and grabbed the keys. Rose opened the fridge and gabbed a two water bottles. She went to the cabinet next and grabbed some granola bars. I opened the door and found a rotting head laying on the mat. I looked down and it was human. There were maggots crawling on the face and falling to the ground.
" Rose run and get the uh stack of CD's from my room."
" Which ones?" She called back her voice sounding distant.
" Disturbed!" I called back and closed the door behind me. I grabbed a garbage bag from the can next to the door and picked up the head. It smelled awful. I wrapped it up and ran outside. I kept going till I reached a safe part of the forest surrounding the house. I shifted and started digging. I buried the head and ran back to the house. I shifted back and climbed up to my window. I tried opening it. It's lock. I cursed silently. I hopped down and climbed in threw the living room window and went upstairs. I changed my muddy clothes and ran back downstairs. I saw Rose in the kitchen with my CD. I smiled and walked up behind her.
" Boo!" I yelled and she screamed. I started laughing an she spun around.
" Gabe! " she yelled. I was still laughing when Sasha busted into the kitchen. Rose slapped me and stormed off upstairs. Sasha looked to me and gave me the 'go apologize' look. I stopped laughing and went upstairs. Rose's door was closed and I could hear her crying.
" Rose! Come on out I'm sorry!" I said though her door.
" Go Away!" She yelled and I rolled my eyes.
" I'm coming in." I said and opened her door. She was laying on her bed with a pillow covering her face. She sat up.
" Get out! " she yelled and threw a pillow. I caught it and walked closer.
" Rose stop this. I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm sorry." I said stepping closer to her. She stood up and tried to move past me. I moved in front of her and pulled her into a hug. She tried to push away. Then she stopped and hugged me back. She kept crying and hugged me back.
" Rose, I'm sorry. I was just joking with you." I said and started rubbing her back. She nodded and whipped her eyes. I let her go and rubbed her arm. She looked to me.
" Rose I am sorry. I didn't mean to freak you out." I said and she nodded and smiled. Then she kissed me. I pulled back.
" What is going on here?" I heard and turned to find Rebecca standing in the door way.
