Today is our last day in California, so Drew and I decide to head out to the beach for the last time. We collect a few more seashells and sand dollars. Drew bends down to pick something up, when he pops back up, I realize it’s a beautiful pink flower.

“Here, this is for you,” Drew says tucking the flower behind my ear. I automatically blush. Drew starts stroking my cheek with his thumb, and I smile at him, he smiles back.

“Drew I want to be with you forever.”

”I know, so do I, I want forever and always to be real, so I’ll be living it with you, so everything is a happy ending, I’ll be the prince and you’ll be the princess, you do look like a princess already so that shouldn’t be so hard.” He smirks at me, all sexy like he always does this to me and I kind of like it.

We collect a few more seashells, and then we head back up to the house. We start packing our stuff, and then we go out on the balcony and start talking about life, and what we want to happen.

“ I’m a little nervous to go home, I mean to see all of my friends and your friends, you know? Like what will they think about us?”

“I don’t think it really matters what they think Casey, I love you, and that’s all that should matter. If some people don’t like you, so what, you’re Casey Rae and nobody is going to stop you from being her.”  I smile at him again, and he can’t help but smile back again, we start laughing for no reason at all, and then he says “Why are we laughing.” But of course he’s still laughing. I shrugged my shoulders.  “I love you.” He says.

“I love you too.” He starts stroking my hair, and then I hear the clock downstairs ring. That means it’s time for us to go. “Well it’s time to get going right?”

“Yep.” He says. We head out the door with our bags in our hands, and we call a taxi. The taxi takes us to the airport, and once again we get on the plane with comfortable chairs. Drew and I share a pair of headphones, and we listen to our favorite songs. One time during the ride, we were jamming out, and I was pretending to be a rock god by flipping my hair, and Drew was kicking the ground, and it turns out he accidentally kept kicking the seat in front of us, so when an old man turned around and yelled at us, we laughed. Once the plane landed, we got all of our bags at the drop, and headed out to get to another taxi. The taxi dropped me off first. I got out of the taxi, and Drew got out to. After I get all of my bags, he hugs me and kisses me on the cheek.

“I love you Drew, thank you so much for everything.”

“Of course, I was so happy that I helped make your dream come true.”

“I would’ve never gotten to go.” I say. This time he just stands there smiling at me. “Well I’m going to go inside now.”

         “Okay, I love you.”

I walk inside dreading what my mom is going to say. “Mom, I’m home!” I yell into the hallway. She comes running out of the kitchen and she hugs me.

Oh baby, I missed you so much, the house has been so lonely without anyone in it. How are you?”

“I don’t know.” I say getting choked up.

         “Aw baby, don’t cry.”

“Mom, I need to. I stopped crying in front of Drew because I know that my mood impacts him, so I need to cry now.”
