I’m lying in bed quietly trying not to wake up my sister Jenny. I can’t sleep anymore, I just keep thinking about who will be moving in next door. Will it be a boy; hopefully, I haven’t been in love since third grade, but on the other hand I wish it was a girl, I don’t have anybody to hang out with besides Natasha, my best friend. Natasha’s always at her dad’s house. I’m usually really bored when she leaves. Then I hear something. It’s just Jenny stirring in bed not having a care in the world. Lucky her.

‘’Casey’’ My mom yells from the kitchen. ‘’It’s time to eat breakfast and get ready for school.’’ I don’t need telling twice I am starved. I can smell the pancakes from my room.

  ‘’ Coming.’’ I yell

I race down the stairs as quick as a jackrabbit, very eager to eat my breakfast. Jenny comes downstairs a minute later and starts asking if our new neighbor is going to be a girl or a boy, I’m wondering the same thing. Of course my mom doesn’t know the answer.

My mom laid a beautiful jean dress on her bed for me to wear to school today. So I decided to try it on. It looks gorgeous on me, but I thought I’ll save it for tomorrow. Instead I throw on my black skirt and my green shirt and I run out to the bus.

My friend Abbey is waving to me as I got on the bus. She nods to me to come and sit down by her.

On the bus Abbey and I talk about who we think is going to be my next door neighbor, or if he, or she, is going to be at school.

When I’m in class, I don’t see any new kid in the morning or the afternoon, Not in any of my classes or Abbey’s. Until I get home.

My aunt Kelly is talking to my new next door neighbor’s dad, I decide to go over to where they are  talking and say hi. While I am talking to the neighbor’s dad, there is somebody that comes out of the house that the new neighbors live in. I can’t tell if it is a girl or a boy, I think whoever they are they’re lucky, they have a beautiful new house with a pool and a basketball court, along with a trampoline. As the person draws closer, I can tell it’s a boy. He looks very nice and I think he looks cute, just a little though.

When he walks over to us, his dad introduces him.

‘’Hi this is my son, Drew Goods.’’ Drew’s dad , Daniel, says

‘’Hi.’’ Drew says smiling, he has a beautiful smile.

Hmmm I think to myself, Casey Goods, or Casey and Drew. I thought that, because the moment I saw him, sparks flew!

I feel something that I’ve never felt before, I think that I’m in love. But this is the first time I’ve seen him, there’s no way this is love at first sight.

I’m just waiting to believe myself that I actually do love him.
