At the end of the week Imogen was booming with happiness and I never heard any insults given to Imogen but I couldn’t wait to be with Eli. As Eli came up to me to kiss me first as usual like every school morning instead I went up to him and kissed him. He looked at me surprised and then smiled and said “Hmmm something new; a change to the morning instead of me having to kiss you all the time, it’s such hard work haha”
I answered “Oh wow kissing me is such hard work” we both laughed and walked into the locker hallway and got our stuff. As we held hands and walked down the hallway to the main seating area inside the school we were interrupted by Adam separating us while shouting “detention of PDA!” Eli and I turned back to see bouncing Adam coming running towards us.
As he put his arms around our shoulders, the three of us pass Imogen kissing some girl she sits with in drama class behind a locker door which is swung open. Adam then says to us “I have a question to ask you guys”
Eli replies “go on…”
Adam says “the soccer team for school have wanted more boosters but I don’t want to be caught.” I then gave a strange stare at Adam who stood in shock and he looked like he wasn’t supposed to say that to me.
Eli then turns to me and says “Boosters are steroids for his team…”
I scream to Adam “Steroids are you crazy you could be expelled!”
Adam then looked at Eli so he could be backed up but Eli backed away and said “I have dealt with drugs and taken them but I never want to go back to them.”
Adam then looked at me and said “What do I do? I don’t want to disappoint the team but the steroids don’t just fall from the sky and drop into my hand their hard to get….Becky help me please” I stare at Adam.
“How about fake it, make it seem like their taking steroids but they will be tricked in their head thinking it is steroids but just buy some cheap pills from the drug store.” I say
Adam then had a sparkle in his eye and said “thank god you said that I’ll go now see you guys”. Adam ran out of the school and went down the road to the drug store lucky it was lunch break not class time. I turn back to Eli and we continue down the hallway holding hands.
Adam came up to me the next morning saying my plan worked that they totally fell for it, but then I asked “what about for first period you have sport and you have no time to run down to the store and get more fakes. You’re better off telling the truth.”
He gave me a worried stare and said “If I don’t give the guys their drugs or if I tell them the truth I’m probably going to be kicked off the team.”
Just as Adam said that the principal was behind him. I dropped open my mouth in shock and pointed behind Adam to look. Our principal Mr.O’Donnahew crossed his arms and shouted angrily “to my office now!” I watch Adam in sadness walk with the principle to his office to talk.
At break time Adam came walking to where Imogen, Eli and I sat. He slumped onto his chair and said “I’m kicked off the team and suspended for a week and they searched my locker for anymore drugs and destroyed my sporting life!”
I said to Adam “At least you’re free from being pressured by people and thank god your free from drugs”
“I never want to see the sight of a pill or drugs in my life again!” He replied.
