The sunshine glares through my window on a Monday morning, I roll over and plant my face in my pillow, I wonder ‘why does school have to be so taunting and why do I always have to make my life perfect, I wish I could just be me for once.
“Becky! Wake up you’re going to be late for school and I want you to be there early so you can start your report on the student council president election properly and hand in your application!”
“Fine mother!” I slid out of bed and crashed to the floor and I stared at my oddly shaped light all dazed. I slowly get up and I walk out downstairs to the kitchen with my already prepared fruit salad breakfast bowl. I ate my fruit in silence as my mother washed the dishes, “darling after the dishes I’ll be leaving straight away for work, your father and I will be home late tonight so make sure your brother doesn’t have a secret party.”
“OK, you know you can just tell him this to his face and not me,”
“Well darling he never listens to me unless I yell at him which I don’t want to do.”
“Ok”. I walk upstairs to the bathroom; I clean my teeth, brush and straighten my blonde, silky hair. I then walk into my room and search through my cupboard for clothes to wear to school today. “hmmm ok I’ll wear my yellow dress with white polka dots on it and my shiny yellow flat shoes.” I kiss my mother and father goodbye and walk outside and I wait at the mail box for my brother Billy, he is always slow at getting dressed because he gels his hair into a curl at the front which is so distinctive when he walks around school.
We walk to the bus stop and catch the 6.00am bus and it takes an hour to get to school. We arrive at the front steps of school and my brother races to the gymnasium to have his alone basketball sesh in the gym while I walked to the Media room. As I unlocked the door I walked in and the $2000 cameras were on the desk in plain view “why doesn’t anyone take care of the beauties what if someone just broke in right now and stole this….anyway I have to be in focus.”
I take out my pretty pink laptop and open up my interview questions, I checked them “ah perfect” and then I open my application to join the student council club/group. My mum wanted this application to be impressive and perfect because she wants me to impress Matthew because his father Mr.Walter is the main man in keeping the schools economic system alive so my mother wants to get a job with him so predictable of my mother, she always wants to be noticed by everyone.
“I see someone needs a major coffee blast to wake up this morning” my best friend Imogen said as she walked through the door.
“I have been so lazy all weekend and epically this morning, I fell out of bed…I’m such an idiot,”
“No you’re not your just pressured by your mum to do this application perfectly without any grammar mistakes or punctuation mistakes or no mistaken words or no made up words…”
“Woah hold up I think I have done all that and thank you for having faith in me Imogen,”
“Sorry bubbly Becky”.
It had come to lunch time and I already wanted to go home because the Senior Year Bullies always are teasing me because of how I’m too kind to be a reporter or I’m just too boring or they call me bighead-Becky, now that I want to throw a punch at. I eat my all my ham and cheese roll for lunch and drink my favourite drink ‘Brain Power Fusion’.
Imogen approaches me and yells “God damn-it my drama essay on Shakespeare is due today in last period and my bumpy brain is not concentrating for me!” as she slumps onto the seat
“Well maybe you just need the inspirational book to read again?,”
“OMG bubbly Becky you’re right!” Imogen then sprinted to her favourite place in the Library.
SLAM “oh gee it looks like big-headed Becky is all alone“.
“Can’t you already see that or are you just blind because of your old age ha!” I say, Senior Year Bully Mark grabs my notebook and throws it onto the floor and buries it into the ground,
“How about that big-head Becky maybe you should shut your big-loud Mouth!”
“Hey! That’s my ideas for reports to do for the school TV; you’re such a big-head yourself!” I yelled but he ignored my remark.
I walked to the bus stop after the last school bell and as I drew near I saw my show off brother showing off his hair and muscles to a girl. I stood a couple of meters away from them because I knew what would happen next he would give the sweet talk, take her home, make out with her and the next day he would then dump her because he is the one-night-stand type of guy.
It was 9.00pm and the girl had already gone and was already under his love-sick spell. I cooked some leftovers and gave some to Billy as well. I went upstairs went to the bathroom had a shower, cleaned my teeth, brushed my hair and went into my room and got into bed. I then thought to myself ‘why do I have to listen to my mum I should of pretended to give the application in and just say to her he must not have been wanting me as his right hand girl at the student council club or Mr.Walter thought you’re a big annoying loud mouth, oh that would of put a smile on my face.'
