Chapter Four

Clint P.O.V

I walk out of the room and head for the lab, I know that either Bruce or Tony will be there, maybe Steve if that's where they went after the whole Loki situation in the lounge. I step out of the elevator and see through the long glass panel on the wall that all three are inside.

"Hey guys, do you know if Loki's allowed to leave the tower or not?" I ask as I open the door and lean against a table in the corner.

"Nope... why?" Tony asks, still fiddling with some wires.

"Cause he just got up and left." I reply, at this they all look up. Steve has his arms crossed and a worried expression on his face, Bruce just looks up, the same expression visible on all there faces.

"Talk to Fury." They all say simultaneously

"That was my next stop." I say and walk out towards the directors office.

I reach the floor and I can already hear Fury's voice booming from down the hall.

"The mythology department is an absolute shit-show! Nobody knows anything along the right lines according to Thor, it's all a bunch of retirees who decided that they wanted a little extra pay. We need someone who went to school for this kind of stuff, the kind that'll put this before anything-"

"Sir, we're doing all we can. A few campus's just had their finals this morning and the results will be in later today, I'll make sure it's a top priority to check for someone." Hill says, cutting Fury off in the process. I decide it's a good time to knock.

"Sir, I have a question for you. It's kind of urgent." I report to him. He gives Hill a slight nod and she walks out, closing the door behind her as she leaves.

"Sir, are you aware as to if Loki is permitted to leave the tower or not?" I ask the director.

"Yes, the answer is that he shouldn't be leaving on his own. He can go but only with a trusted shield agent or member. Why?" He asks me.

"Well, he just sort of up and left." I report back to him. "Said he was 'going out'."

Fury seems to evaluate the situation in his mind, eventually he looks back up.

"He'll be back." Is all he says, I stand waiting for more. "That's all, you're dismissed." He finishes and gestures towards the door. Hesitantly I start walking towards the door but stop mid step.

"How are you so sure?"

"Let's just say, he knows what'll happen if he doesn't." He replies slyly, looking down at the city below.

"Oh, about the mythology department, I suggest (Y/N) (L/N). She took her finals today, but has been top of her class for awhile now." I add as I heading out the door and into the elevator.

~~Loki P.O.V~~

I 'poof', as Stark likes to call it, back to the tower with the cookies in hand and sit down on my bed. The girl didn't seem fazed by the fact that a mass murderer, who has in fact tried to take over the world, was just in her kitchen eating all her cookies. I looked in her eyes and saw little to no fear, just confusion and frustration.

Her friends on the other hand... they knew who I was, though they stayed quite. Afraid I would do something that would result in me most likely regretting it later on.
