Hearts and Halos // Chapter Eleven

// Day 6 //

// Ponyboy's Point Of View //

I was pacing back and forth in the kitchen, biting my bottom lip roughly. Johnny sat on the counter, watching me as I paced.

It was about 11:30 pm and as soon as it hits 12:00 I would have my Johnny back for good. I was excited but everyone was sleeping so I had to be very quiet.

Johnny has a small smile on his lips as I felt his eyes follow me around. I sigh and stop, looking at him and walking over to him.

"Calm down Ponyboy, you'll wake everyone up with those loud footsteps of yours," Johnny says.

"I know Johnnycake but I'm so excited for you to be here again and I can be with you and the Gang again. I can't wait to show you off," I said, giggling lightly.

His face turns pink and he giggles quietly, wrapping his arms around my shoulders loosely. My arms went around his waist and he smiles more at me.

"How do you think you're brothers would react if I kissed you in front of them," he asks.

"I don't know but I guess we'll find out sooner or later." I grin at him.

He pecks my lips lightly and he sighs, resting his chin on my head, my head rested on his chest. He hums softly and I glance over at the clock.

11: 35 pm...

Time isn't going fast enough! I whine and he chuckles lightly.

"I know Ponyboy but it's almost there," he mumbles.

"I want time to go faster," I whine out.

He pulls away slightly and smiles, kissing my head. I sigh and nod slightly, puffing my cheeks out slightly.

"What do you wanna do to pass the time," he asks.

"I don't know Johnny, I'm just so excited and impatient at the moment and I just can't wait," I say squirming around slightly.

He chuckles again and slides off the counter, wrapping his arms around my waist. My arms stay around his shoulders loosely and he pulls me closer to him.

He hums softly and starts swaying back and forth slowly, resting his chin on my head. I rest my head on his chest and listen to his heart beat, closing my eyes and swaying with him.

I don't know how, but time went by quicker than I thought... I glance at the clock, my eyes widened and I pull away from quickly.

11: 59 pm!

Johnny looks at the clock and I see him squirm around excitedly, him turning to look at me. He quickly kisses my forehead and smiles.

"I'll see you in the morning honey..."

My world went white...
