Emma woke up, her face like a vampire's in the dead of night: pale.

A woman with ash-blonde hair in a slick ponytail, stared down at her.

"So, how are you feeling, Emma?" she asked, her voice as soft as a blanket and as relaxing as a holiday to the shores of Hawaii.  Her voice spoke in the same tongue as her, in English, but her accent seemed quite different. Emma recognised it: Australian. She smiled down at Emma. She looked pretty much the same age as Emma, maybe a bit older. Her lips were glossed with red lipstick and she had light brown eye shadow on her eyes, which were boldened by black mascara. On her forehead was a big plaster.

"I feel very ill, those pills they have been giving me are...harmful!" Emma cried, her voice raspier than last time.

" You won't hurt me? Right?"Emma asked pulling the massive strand away from her eyes to reveal blue markings on her forehead.

The woman gasped. She went towards the window on the ward and lowered the curtains and shut the door. Nicky picked up a small wire on the table and looked deeply in Emma's eyes.

She moved towards Emma.

Emma shivered. A cold, obliviating chill scurried, hurringly, down her spine.

"Who are you?"
