Hey guys! Taking 30 seconds to go to our profile and clicking follow is 100% worth it, not only does it show me you guys are committed to these chapters, but it also gives me inspiration to keep writing this book! Thank you! Muah xx
I slid the cup over the counter to the customer, her hands taking the warm cup. "Thank you!" She said gratefully, slipping a $2 in the tip jar and leaving the store. Only 10 more minutes until my shift was up, only 10 more minutes until Tal came and picked me up for lunch. Bless.
Cleaning a table which was left with crumbs and nasty stuff on it, someone walked into the store. "Hello! How are you?" I asked like usual, the girl nodding. "I'm good, thank you!" The voice seemed familiar. Natalie!
Turning around, Natalie's eyes gleamed right through me, and I scoffed. I couldn't be rude to her here, could I? Walking back to behind the counter, I tapped the screen to get it to not sleep.
"What can I get for you?" I asked in a polite voice, and she looked up at the menu. "One Chai Tea, and.......one of these!" I said with a smirk, pointing to one of the cake pops in the small case up front.
"Okay! That will be $5.45, please." I replied, snatching the card from her fingertips. Swiping the card, I handed it back and began making the Chai Tea. Finishing up within a minute or so, I slid the lid on and handed it to her. Taking the cake pop out of the case, I put it in a baggie and handed that as well.
"Have a good day." I said with no emotion, and she smiled. "Thank you, Aria! Also, congratulations on your pregnancy! You'll make an amazing mom." She teased, strutting out of the store.
Ugh I hated that b*tch. Why did she have to come into my job and make my life miserable. Before I could think of another horrible way of Natalie dying in my head, my phone's alarm rang.
Time to finish up! Cleaning the last of the tables and wiping down the machines, I returned to the back and took off my apron. "Hey, Aria!" I turned around to see Daryl, a new worker who took over after me.
"Hey Daryl! How do you like work so far?" I asked, and he nodded. "It's fun!" He added in, and I smiled. "Cool!" I tried to make it look like I cared.
"Well, I have to go meet up with my boyfriend." I put the apron in my cubby along with my hat, Daryl nodding and walking to the counter after putting on his apron. Poor Daryl, he didn't know the work that had to go into making coffees at rush hour.
This was the time people were on break for work, though the mornings were especially crazy. Walking to the back, I picked up the small check that was placed for me in my paying cubby, slipping it into my purse and walking outside.
Sitting for a moment, I saw Tal pulling up. "Hey there baby momma." He said sassily, and I looked at my feet. I was starting to show a little, but not much. Only a month had passed since I found out, and I really didn't feel like telling my mother.
She would just demand to see it, and I wouldn't want that forced upon a newborn. "What's wrong?" He asked, rubbing my back.
I shrugged, looking at him. "I am just tired." I rubbed my forehead, and he embraced me in a hug.
Ah, Tal, my beauty. "Are you feeling better than the last few weeks?" Tal asked, and I nodded.
Truthfully, I think the first 3 weeks of pregnancy is the worst. I was throwing up, sore, moody, and hungry 24/7.
"Let's go grab something to eat, then I have a surprise for you." He snatched the grip of my hand, and I smiled. He knew how to treat a pregnant lady, let's be honest.
"Are you scared?" I asked quietly as we drove down the road. "What do you mean?" He hummed, patting the wheel as the slow and quiet music played on the radio. Turning it off, I didn't want him to lose focus of the questions I was asking.
"Of me having a baby. We're going to have them for 18 years, I mean, aren't you a little scared?" I said, twiddling my thumbs. "Yeah, of course, but more than that I am excited." He gripped my knee, rubbing it with a comforting warmth.
"What do you mean?" I wanted to know more, and he nodded. "Hell yes, I am scared. I could lose you and the baby or either in child birth, down the road I could lose interest, you could lose interest, many things can happen! But what I am happy about is that I can spend the rest of my life with you and our baby." He gushed, and I couldn't help but shed a tear.
"How did I deserve such a good boyfriend, and future baby daddy?" I chuckled, wiping the few tears that happened to fall onto my cheek. "You were yourself." He kissed my cheek after pulling into the parking lot of Chik-Fila (my home basically lmao) and hopped out to help me out.
"I am pregnant, not disabled." I said sweetly, letting myself out before he could make his way over to the door. "Sorry, I keep reminding myself this." He snatched my hand once again and we went to go eat.
