Chapter 9 Part 2

When the boys got to the girls' house they all hopped into Josh's car and went to Spirit, the local Halloween shop.

"What are you guys dressing up as? Jupiter asked.

"I'm not telling you, you'll just judge me. " Josh said with a hint of humor in his eyes. Jupiter rolled her eyes at Josh making sure he was looking in the rearview mirror. 

"Fine, I won't judge," Jupiter said putting her hands up in the air.

"I'm going as Ace Venture Pet Detective," Josh said looking at Jupiter in the mirror and caught Jupiter trying to stifle a laugh before she composed herself and put on a serious face when their eyes connected.

"I'm going as Hades, God of the Underworld," James said before Josh and Jupiter got into ANOTHER fight.

"Well since we told you ours, who are you guys going to be?" Josh said cocking an eyebrow at the girls.

"I'm going at Cher and Jupiter is going as Dionne from the movie Clueless," Jolene said.

"So you guys are going to dress up like sexy schoolgirls? That's hot, princess." Josh said looking at Jupiter with a smirk on his face. They just pulled up to the store and they started to get out.

"Your not funny you know," Jupiter said sarcastically stepping out of the car.

"I find myself pretty funny," Josh said winking at her over the car, she just rolls her eyes and walks away.

"Do you guys want to go see a movie?" James asked.

"Yeah, sure! What movie?" Jupiter said.

"Ooo "Hocus Pocus" is in theaters this year for Halloween," Jo said.

"Good enough for me," Josh said.

"Sure!" Jupiter said.

"Where ever you are I'm there," James said kissing Jo on the forehead. Jupiter rolled her eyes at how corny he was being.

They dropped their thing off at the house and headed to the movie theater where they were forced to park down the street since the parking lot was too small. They ended up having to walk down the block to get there, as they walked past an ally three kids were setting up spray paint to graffiti the wall. As they got closer to the theater Jo noticed that Jupiter wasn't walking with them anymore. She turned on her heels and started looking around for her. She ran to the ally where they saw the kids hoping she was there, luckily she was and she walked over to her.

"Jupiter, what are you doing?" Jolene asked. Jupiter didn't respond. Jolene looked at her eyes and they were all white.
"Fuck she can't control her powers! Jupiter snap out of it!" Jolene whisper yelled.

"Shit shit shit!" Jolene mumbled. She turned around and saw the boys walking closer so she met them a couple of feet away so they didn't get too close.

"I guess she was in the mood to paint. She is very artistic." Jolene said smoothly.

"We don't have time for this... Princess, we need to get to the movie." Josh said trying to get a reaction out of Jupiter.

Jupiter just kept on painting and didn't respond at all. Normally she would have commented on the nickname so Josh got a little suspicious. He started to walk over to her. Jolene runs in front of him and puts both her hand on his chest and tries to push him but he doesn't budge.

"Jo what are you not telling us!" Josh said giving Jolene a suspicious look.

"There is nothing to tell she just loves to paint and draw. She gets into a trance when she paints and she can't hear anyone because she is too focused." Jolene said.

Just as Josh pushed past Jolene, Jupiter was done and back to normal. Josh didn't miss the look of confusion that was on Jupiter's face when she dropped the can.

"Dude your art is so sick!" One of the kids said.

"What?" Jupiter said.

"Your painting. I was just telling them about your skills." Jolene said looking at Jupiter with a look saying 'go with it!'

"Oh yeah totally. I just like painting a lot. You know that feeling you get when you see paint and have a crazy idea so you have to go crazy with it." Jupiter said with an awkward laugh.

"Yep, nothing wrong with that right," Jolene said. She then looked at the ground and so did Jupiter.

'Josh called you princess so say something about it.' Jolene linked Jupiter.

"Oh and don't think I didn't hear you call me princess!" Jupiter said giving Josh an evil eye.

"Okay well if we don't go now we will miss the movie," James said grabbing Jolene's hand and patting Josh on his shoulder.

"Yeah let's get going," Jolene said. Josh stood in his place for a second still not fully convinced, but he walked away anyways.

They got into the movie and took their seats. The commercial was already on so the lights were dimmed.

'Your painting was strange, who were the people in the picture.' Jolene said in the mind link.

'I don't know I didn't even know I could do that so fast. I think its a new power, I drew a picture of dad back at home too. I think I did it in the middle of the night.' Jupiter responded.

'That would make sen-' Jolene responded but was interrupted by James nudging her in the shoulder.

"Did you hear me?" James said.

"No did you said something. Sorry, I think I was daydreaming." Jolene said.

"I asked if you wanted any candy?" James said.

"Yeah, get me some sour gummies please!" Jolene said kissing his cheek.

"I could go for some sweet tarts!" Jupiter said giving James her puppy eyes.

"Okay, you must be pretty worn out from painting that who mural," James said getting up and walking out of the theater.

James got them their candy and the movie started. They watched the whole movie without any problems. Once they finished their movie they all started their walk back to the car.

"The thing I don't get is how Jupiter painted the whole wall in just a couple on minutes. That is nearly impossible! Also when she finished she acted like she didn't know what was going on like she didn't even know she did it." Josh said out of nowhere.

"It was nothing Josh just let it go! God damn!" Jupiter said walking faster to get a little distance.

"James, you see where I'm coming from, right?" Josh asked. James looked at him and then at Jolene and Jupiter.

"I do kind of agree with Josh it doesn't make much sense. I mean I've never seen someone paint that fast and she wasn't responsive while she was painting either." James said giving Jolene a look.

"I get into my work and I learned how to speed paint, it takes a lot of practice," Jupiter said putting her hand on her hips.

"Well I guess but it still doesn't make any sense... I don't believe a word you are saying there is something you aren't telling us." Josh said.

"IM DONE WITH THIS CONVERSATION! I DON'T GET WHY YOU CAN'T LET THIS GO, JESUS." Jupiter yelled at them.

"Why are you guys questioning us so much! You would be better off if you couldn't talk." Jolene said before they both stormed off.

The boys try to call after them but the words wouldn't form. They looked at each other with confusion and then Josh runs after the girls and James follows. When they reach the girls Josh turns them around and starts to point at his voice box.

"What the hell is wrong now! One of you needs to say something." Jolene yells. The boys opened their mouths but nothing came out.

"Come on! SPEAK!" Jolene yelled again as she was gesturing them to tell them.

"What the hell was that!" Josh said.

'I think you might have just gotten your second power too.' Jupiter said in the link.

"Fuck!" Jolene said.

"There is something you aren't telling us!" James said. The girls didn't hear them since they were speaking in their mind link.

''Fuck we are going to have to tell them!' Jolene said.

'Can we trust them? I know James is your boyfriend but we haven't known them for too long. It could be another Abigail situation.' Jupiter replied.

While the girls are talking in their mind link the boys are trying to get their attention. James and Josh walk up to the girls and see their eyes, they have a thin layer of white over them.

"What the hell this is so creepy!" Josh said. James just looks at them in awe.

'We have to trust them they have seen too much already. We can't just ditch them now they might tell people.' Jolene said.

'Your right. We don't have any other choice.' Jupiter said before they ended the link.

"What the hell happened to your eyes just then!" James said cupping Jolene's face.

"Okay fine! There is something we have to tell you. But can we get to your house first I don't want to say it out here." Jupiter said as the girls looked around.

"There might be people listening," Jolene said.

"Fine but when we get there you better tell us," Josh said.

The car ride wasn't any different, no one talked and the girls sat in the back and could see Josh glancing at them in the rearview mirror. When they arrived at the house they all went inside.

"Okay. Confession time." Josh said with coldness in his voice. The girls looked at him with a hint of confusion on their faces. They shook it off and sat down on the couch.

"You might want to sit down," Jupiter said. The boys sat down on the other couch and looked at the girls.
"You guys said you aren't humans, well neither are we. We are Demi-Gods, there was a God who fell in love with a human, our relative from 100 years ago, and since that was a sin in the heavens they cursed our bloodline. A family friend who was a witch placed a curse breaker in our bloodline before the Gods could make the first move. We are the curse breakers, all they had to do was make sure our bloodline lasted long enough for us to be born and turn 21. When we turned 21 we got our first powers and we will get more as we learn to master the other ones. We have to use them to save ourselves." Jolene explained.

"Okay. Chris and Ann aren't our real parents. They are just family friends told to take care of us since our parents were killed when we were little." Jupiter paused so she wouldn't start crying. At this time Jolene is crying quietly to herself. "When...our house was attacked.... our dad told us to go to our hideout... and to call Chris and Ann to pick us up." Jupiter forced out.
"Our lives don't feel like our own and there isn't anything we can do to change that," Jolene said right before she broke down again.

At this point, the girls are leaning back on the couch and crying into their hands. The boys quickly get up and go over to comfort them.

"I'm so sorry that this is happening to you guys," James said hugging Jolene tighter and rubbing soothing circles on her back as she cried into his chest.

"We get it, I just wish you would have told us sooner and this whole thing could have been prevented," Josh said running his fingers through Jupiter's hair in a comforting motion.

"We know," Jolene said wiping the tears from her eyes.
"We haven't had a lot of luck in the past with people knowing who we are. There was someone who we thought was close to us but when they found out about us she sold us out and then there was another person who was our best friend but she ended up trying to turn us into the organization she works for." Jupiter said. James pulled Jolene on his lap and just held her and Josh pulled Jupiter so she was leaning on his shoulder.

After a little bit, the girls regained their composure and decided they could finish their story. They told them everything and the boys took it well. By the time they were done telling the boys everything, it was around 3 am and they all decided to stay over.

James took Jolene to his room and gave her his shirt to change into and lead her to the bathroom. Jolene took a quick shower and changed into the shirt. She then hopped into bed with him.

Josh helped Jupiter to his room and gave her a shirt also. He then took her to the bathroom. He went to his bed and waiting for her to finish showering. After 30 minutes he started to get worried. He could hear the shower but he thought she would be out by now. He goes over to the door and knocked on it.

"Princess? Are you okay?" Josh said. He waited for her response or at least yell at him for the nickname but she didn't respond. He used his heightened senses and could hear her sobbing in the shower. He used the key he had on top of the door frame to open his bathroom door. When he went inside he just sees Jupiter crying with her knees pulled to her chest and the water falling over her body.

He grabs the towel and turns the water off. He wraps her in the towel and picks her up. He then takes her to the bed and helps her put his shirt on. After the shirt is on he can't help but check out her long tan legs.

"I'm sorry Jupiter," Josh said snapping out of it.

"Why are you sorry this isn't your fault," Jupiter muttered through her sobs.

"It just sucks that you have to go through this. Don't tell anyone this but I think you are pretty cool." Josh said knocking his shoulder into hers.

"Thanks. I just miss them so much." Jupiter said before she laid her head into her hands and starts to cry again.

"I know," Josh said pulling her into his chest.

"You probably think I'm so pathetic," Jupiter said.

"Not at all! I think you are a very strong woman. You have gone this long and haven't let it get you down. You and Jolene have made the best out of the situation you are in." Josh said.

"Thanks. Sometimes you are pretty cool yourself." Jupiter said with a ghost of a smile.

"I know, I try," Josh said smiling at Jupiter. "You need to sleep it is already 4 in the morning."

"Fine," Jupiter said as she covered herself with the covers. Josh turned on his heels and headed for the couch.

"Josh? You don't have to sleep on the couch. This is your bed I'm just staying here for now." Jupiter said as she patted the pillow next to hers.

"Are you sure?" Josh said.

"Yeah, we are friends. We just had a little break." Jupiter said giving him a weak smiling. He walks back to the bed and takes his shirt off. Jupiter finds her self staring at his eight pack.

"Eyes up here princess," Josh said smugly, Jupiter rolls her eyes.

"Of course I'm looking at your abs! Have you not seen them they are a work of art! Oh and also don't call me princess." Jupiter said as Josh slipped under the covers and facing the opposite way from Josh and fell asleep.
Jupiter started to wake up when she felt something touch her hips. When she opened her eyes she saw Josh's arm wrapped around her stomach and him breathing into the crook of her neck. By how even his breathing is she knew he was sleeping. She tried to pull away from him but he just growled and held her tighter, not even waking up. She realized that he wasn't going to let go anytime soon and was so exhausted from crying, is the excuse she told her self but she would never admit that being held by Josh made her feel safe and comfortable, she found that she couldn't keep her eyes open any longer and fell into a peaceful sleep.
