I have a sister

So many times it's made me wonder
Why, anyone would stay.
So many times it's made me question.
As I stumble along my way.

No one, to turn to.
I've been broke too many times.
No one to look to,
Too many bad things in my life.
These people
Who I'm supposed to trust
These people, who're supposed to show me love.
They left me alone
This is not a "home"
Just a place to go and hide.
I've been here before,
I've seen this story
With these people who tell me lies.
These brothers and sisters
Who I'm supposed to look up to
Over and over,
They've left me behind.
Doing bad things,
Saying it's right,
Don't protect me,
But leave me to fight.
In a battle that I can't win,
That I don't want to face.
They leave me there,
Call me a disgrace,
Because I refuse to turn to
The bad things they cling to
Because I don't look up
to the things they do.
And yet I have a sister,
Who's not blood, but she's mine.
Someone I can turn to,
If I'm stuck, and caught up in the lies.
Someone who says she's proud,
Of the accomplishments that I do
Someone who never leaves,
Even though sometimes I think it's better for her to;
Because that's what I'm used to.
I have a big sister
Who shows me the truth,
Who believes me,
When I don't believe myself sometimes.
Someone who tells me it's not my fault.
Who hugs me, multiple times throughout the day,
One of the only people I trust completely,
A big sister who deals with me.
Someone who I can call
Laughing or in tears.
Ranting or exclaiming in pure joy
She doesn't leave me alone
Or leave me to fight.
I have a sister,
Who's not blood,
But it's true.
she's there for me
When it matters the most.
Who finds me worth it,
Even if I can't see it.
I have a big sister,
Not blood, but mine.
God gave me a blessing,
A big sister that I have in you.
I love you big sis.
