Not even 5 minutes after you arrived home, you heard a knock on the door. Groaning, you stared at the door, your laziness taking over your body having you debate whether or not opening the door was really that important. I mean if it was my mom, she'd have the key right? Maybe I'll just pretend to not be home. They could've seen me come in through? I'll just pretend to be a sle-
Your thoughts were interrupted by another knock. This one was longer, and heavier, as if whoever it was desperate or eager to get in.
What if someone's getting hurt and they need help. Or worse it was a murderer trying to get in and rob the house. Or maybe my mom got in an accident!
With that last thought, you jumped up and ran for the door. Without thinking you yanked the door open. Staring at the person in front of you, your blood boil.
"What are you doing here?" You spat, wanting to slam the door in their face.
"Just want to talk, is that too much to ask?" Without another word they made their way into the house.
"Come in why don't you?" You slammed the door and turned to see them standing right behind you.
"What do you want, Ashton?" You tapped your foot waiting for his response.
"To talk to you." He wouldn't even look you in the eyes, he wouldn't even look at you. He just starred at the floor.
"We talked at school, I told you I'd finish the project. You don't have to worry." You opened the door and motion for him to walk out the door.
He walked towards the door.
He closed the door and turned to you.
"You know that's not what I meant. Please? I need to talk to you. You left me so confused at school, I need answers, please?" He looked straight into your eyes and like that, he convinced you to listen.
"Fine. We can talk, but not here." You started walking towards your room." Be careful, the ground-" You tried to warn him but you were cut off with a big thump.
"...comes up right there- Are you alright?" You rushed to help him up.
"I'm find." He dusted himself off and looked at you as if telling you to continue to walk.
"Alright."
Once you reached your room you threw yourself of your bed.
"So..." Ashton trailed off, not knowing what to say.
"So? What do you want to talk about? You said you were confused, so just ask me any question and I'll answer honestly." You sat up in your bed and stared at him.
"Where you- Where- Did you go to prom?" He struggled to get the question out.
"Yes."
"Did you, um- Did you...? What did you wear that night?" He sat down next to you.
"A dress. Some heels. A mask." You started to walk around your room, not comfortable sitting next to him.
"What kind of dress? What kind of heels? What kind of mask? And what did you mean you'd 'like your mask back'?" He started following you around your room, trying to get you to stop.
"A white dress with black. Black heels. Golden mask. "You sat back down on your bed. "And I meant I lost my mask and I'd like it back."
"But why would you think I had it?" He sat next to you.
"Because you do have it," It was your turn to avoid his eyes and stare at the floor.
"Why would I have it?" He turned to look at you.
