Rose's pov

I look out of the police car window as we pull up the driveway to my house. Jack parks the car as I rest my hand on the handle.

Inside that house is my mom, my dad, my little brother, all I wanted to come home to when I was with Jason. Now that I'm free, I don't even want to step out on the grass.

"I don't want to go" I whisper, as my eyes shoot down to the floor of the car. He turns around from the fromt seat, looking at me.

"Would you like me to walk you inside?" He says, and I look up at him. I slowly knod my head, as he smiles down at me.

We both get out of the car, and he walks to my side, as we reach the front door. He places his fist on it, before lightly knocking.

The door swings open to reveal the face of my mom, with an angry grin, and a clenched jaw.

"Rose, you better get in this house right now!" She spits, looking down at me, "Excuse me sir, but you can leave now" she says looking up at Jack.

I grab his arm, draghing him inside the house behind me, as I walk past my mom. I stare at my mom as she walks next to my dad.

"How dare you disgrace our family name by being with t-that physcopath!" My dad screams at me, and I jump a bit.

My mind roams as I try to remember a time when they were this mad. Mad at all, really.

"How stupid do you have to be to stay with him!" My mom yells back, slapping the side of her legs.

I find my feet quickly stomping away from Jack, closer to my parents, only about a few feet away.

"You don't know him" I spit at them, as their eyes grow. My fists turn into balls as my mom bits her lip.

"I know that he kills people for a living, isn't that enough!" My dad yells, as my jawn clenchs. My eyes shoot to a creeking sound from the stairs, as I look up at Zach.

I look at his pale, tired face and my eyes widen. His mouth is open, staring down at us, and my eyes tear up. He runs to me side, hugging my waist, clinging to my side.

"He was always there to comort me, to hold me, or even just to tell me he cared about me when no one else did" I spat, slowly rubbing Zach's back as I feel the tears start to run down my shoulders.

"Where were you guys when I needed you?" I yell at them, as they just stare back, "Working extra hours just to get away from your children?" I spit, as I kiss Zach's forehead.

My mom stomps to me, pulling Zach away from my grip. She pulls him away from me, as she hugs him instead.

"Get in your room right now, Rose!" She says, as tears fall down her face, "You will not sit here and talk to me like this, young lady!" She yells at me.

I run into Jack's arms, bursting into tears, as he hugs me. His hands form small circles on my back as I cry.

"Go get your stuff, baby" He whispers in my ear, "You're not staying here tonight" he says, and I slowly knod, running up the stairs.

I run into my room, grabbing a backpack. I throw two sweatshirts, a pair of shorts, and a pair of leggings into the bag. I run down the stairs and back to Jack, as we walk out of the door not saying another word.

Jack grabs the bag from my hand, and places it in the backseat. I watch as he walks to the drive's side.

"You can sit with me in the front, if you want" he says, and I nod slightly, getting into the police car.
