Rose's pov
My eyes peel open to the cold feeling of metal on my legs and I look at the table infront of me. I watch as the door slowly opens, and a tall man walks in.
"I hope you slept well," I hear him say, as I recognize the voice as Jack's, "We have a lot to talk about" he says sitting infront of me.
I watch him organize some papers on his desk slowly looking back up to me. He sighs, opening up a tan colored folder.
"What it says in my file is that you passed out before everything happened" he says scanning the folder again, "So I'm just going to quickly go over the basics" he says, pushing the papers away from him.
"After you went unconscious, a man by the name of Ryan Butler intruded on you two. He tried to stop Jason, but failed, resulting in calling the police hotline" he says, his eyes connecting with mine.
I let a gasp out from the sound of Ryan's name coming out of Jack's mouth. I cover my mouth as I think about Ryan being the one who turned his best friend, and gang leader, into the police.
"Does that name ring a bell, sweetheart?" He says, looking into my soul, "I'm sorry if I hit a soft spot, we are just trying to put the pieces of this case together" he sighs deeply.
"H-He was an o-old friend of Jason and I-I" I stutter, as he writes something down in the folder from before.
"Why do you say 'was'? What happened to separate everyone?" He says, looking up at me through his eye lashes.
"Jason thought t-that Ryan had feelings for m-me" I whisper, wiping my eye, somehow crying again.
"Did Ryan have anything to do with Jason's crimes?" He asks and I look down at the floor.
Should I cover up for Ryan? Did he already confess? Did they even speak to him? I mean he did safe me, I should safe him, or at least try to.
"M-May I have a drink of water?" I whisper, and Jack stands up, nodding his head.
I watch him walk to the door, and stand infront of it for a moment. The door quickly opens and a hand hands Jack a glass of water. He walks back, placing it back infront of me. I take a sip, looking back up at him as he waits for an answer,
"No," I say slowly, trying to sound confident and about my answer, "Ryan never helped Jason with the- t-the crimes" I say adjusting myself in the uncomfortable chair.
I watch as he wrote something down, and looked back up at me slowly.
"Did Jason ever tell you about the stuff he was planning?" He says, and I shake my head no as he smiles.
"I think we have one more question," he says as he finishs writing, "Do you want to go out to dinner tomorrow?" He smiles and my eye widen.
You need to get over Jason, he is never coming out of jail now. You are probably never going to see him again You can't sit here lonely. I need to get over him.
But tomorrow is not the day.
"Can I get a r-rain check maybe?" I ask, as he smiles. We both stand from our chairs, walking around the table.
Jack towers over me as he walks next to me, and out of the metal door. He guides me through the busy hallways, full of officers in uniform.
I hear the sound of sneakers hiting the concrete floor, and I look up at the face. My eyes widen to see Ryan, with a black eye and a pale face. Both of his wrists were being held by handcuffs, as he watched the floor.
