New Orleans, 1821
Lexi walks into the study to see two of her three brothers lounging. She narrows her eyes and clicks her tongue. She walks back out only for Elijah to call her back in. She peeks her head in as he asks, "Is there something you wish to ask?"
"No," she says, shrugging. "Kol and I had plans, and he is nowhere to be seen."
"Ah," Klaus stands, a smirk on his face. "Kol won't be seen for a while."
Lexi's nonchalant demeanor drops instantly. She takes a step into the room and breathes, "What did you do?"
"The better question is what did Kol do," Klaus sighs, feigning innocence. "He decided to show young Marcellus a live rendition of Hamlet. You and I both know that no child should have to watch such a...bloody massacre. So, Kol, unfortunately, had to be punished."
Lexi's lips part before she squeezes them shut. "I'll tell Rebekah," she whispers before she walks away, her head down.
"Alexis, wait." She doesn't stop walking down the hallway. "Alexis." She bumps into Elijah standing in front of her. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," she lies, playing with her fingers. "It's just..." She rolls her eyes, laughing slightly. "I thought we were getting back to normal. That we would be a family again. I miss my family, Elijah."
His brown eyes sparkle as he searches her expression. "Alexis..." He shakes his head.
"Kol has been daggered too many times for meaningless acts. I haven't seen Finn in 800 years! It is time for us to reunite, Elijah." She glances down and takes a deep breath. "But that is my belief and there is no use hoping. Excuse me."
She pushes past Elijah and speeds away, leaving him standing in the hallway alone, wondering how much of his youngest sister's pain had been caused by his family.

"We're back!" Lexi announces as the group steps back into the compound. Elijah appears in front of them, his arms crossed.
"How did they do?" He asks as Lexi walks right by him to grab her purse and jacket.
As she passes by the group, heading for the door, she calls out, "They'll still die within the first minute of a fight!"
Elijah chuckles softly as she disappears around the corner. "That's good."
"How is that good?" Kira groans.
"That means you're learning," Elijah tells them. "At first, she wouldn't even trust you with a kitchen knife. Now, she believes you wouldn't hold your own in a fight against the supernatural." He begins to smirk. "At least you can take down a human, in her opinion. It usually takes months for the people she trains to be given the ok to fight a human. She trusts you. You should trust her too."
Lexi walks into Rousseau's bar and plops down at the bar, instantly ordering multiple drinks. She downs seven shots before someone taps her shoulder. She turns, ready to growl until she sees Kaleb's face. "Hey," She smiles. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I, um..." Kaleb stutters.
"Not following me, I hope." She laughs, the alcohol in her system making her slur.
"Are you drunk?" He asks, a smirk on his lips but concern in his eyes.
"No," She shakes her head. "Maybe."
"Sorry, folks," The bartender says, walking up to them. "Bar's closing for a private party."
When he walks away, Davina strolls up to them. "Hey, Lexi." She greets. "What's going on?" She asks, looking at the people leaving.
