JAC'S POV

This son of a bitch. I didn't know if he figured he was being secretive. I didn't know if he figured I wouldn't notice his blatant attempts of avoiding me. Was it something I said? Did? Did he not enjoy our time together and was trying to push me away now? Why would he have stayed afterwards yesterday if that were the case?

I rounded another corner, finding Ren slip down another hall. I huffed out an annoyed breath, picking up the pace after him. I hadn't managed to get any work done. I was too busy tracking down the imbecile that thought he could hide from a telepathic. I had gone as far to taking my glasses off, letting all the unfiltered thoughts of others come in. I was starting to build up a headache, but I couldn't tell if that was from the voices or Lorenzo. Probably a decent combination of both.

I paused at the corner, seeing him speaking to another agent. I could see his nervous glances. He was hardly paying attention to the man. I glared at him, knowing he was trying to watch for me. I snapped, stalking out from my hiding spot towards him. His eyes met mine instantly, and I watched them widen in horror. Yeah, you better be terrified, buddy.

"I, uh, I gotta go," I heard him say in a hasty tone before twirling around and barreling off..

"Lorenzo!" I screeched out, picking up the pace to catch up to him. I passed the other agent, his eyes following my as I passed. 'How is it Lorenzo gets such hot girls to chase after him?' I stalked after him as he tried to zigzag his way through the building. It was easy to track him. I just had to find the desperate thoughts of "go away, go away, go away".

'Eh, never stopped me before.' I listened to him, rolling my eyes as I followed him into the parking garage.

I tried picking up the pace to catch him, but he seemed to still move faster than me. By the time I ran out into the garage, he was peeling away onto the road. I growled under my breath, heading towards my car. I started it through my interface, jogging towards my car as the engine revved to life. The door swung open upon my approach, and I sat in swiftly.

"You started the car from an interface. Is there somewhere you need to be in a hurry?" the car's AI asked pleasantly.

"Take me to Lorenzo Castellano's house," I answered, pulling my seatbelt over my shoulder and clicking into place. The car beeped in confirmation, backing out of the stall and chasing after Lorenzo's vehicle. There's no way I'm letting you out of this one, Lorenzo.

I didn't bother knocking on his door to his apartment, entering in the key code and storming in. He flinched from his seat on his couch, looking back at me with wide eyes.

"I forgot you knew my pin," he stated awkwardly, his face flushing with a deep hue of red.

"Why are you avoiding me?" I snapped at him, putting my hands on my hips as I shoved my glasses back up my nose. I had slipped them back on during my car ride, the rapidly passing thoughts growing too much to handle.

He got up, walking an extra distance to avoid getting near me as he went rifling through his fridge. He pressed a button, the temperature field momentarily powering down so he could reach inside to get whatever he was looking for.

"Do you, uh, want a Fizzle or something?" he questioned with his head shoved into the fridge. I made an irritated noise at his dismissiveness, stalking closer.
