The Gifted | Rides

"I'll always be right there."
- Ariana Grande

For the rest of the day Kahli and Harry ended up avoiding each other after that incident in the hallway yesterday. She sat far away from him in first hour and she didn't sit by him at lunch either. Harry saw what Kahli could do, and Kahli kinda saw what Harry could do but she has a very bold idea of what he is capable of. They both moved the Dolan Twins without touching them. With a little bit of focus and the swift motion of their hands they had the boys both flying against the lockers.

What they didn't know is that they both are very different from each other but somewhat alike. The reason for their defensive moves were different, and yeah, they sent the twins flying back to the lockers but they had to use different ways to make that happen. Harry simply used the air around them to send them back using one of his strongest and obvious element to keep them away from her. Kahli had to go in deep to send them flying back by using their metal parts because afterall, they were robots made out of metal and that was one of her greatest pros when it came to her power.

After the twins ran off Harry had got down on her knees and touched her neck, restoring the lost air in her lungs once again. The healing method was oh so simple and very affective to Kahli because she felt like she could breathe again. He did it absentmindedly and out of care, but when he thinks about it now he should have kept his hands to himself. They didn't know what was going to happen between them from that moment, so they ended up avoiding each other all day, and the Dolans didn't mess with them that day either.

The feeling they both had was unexplainable. Harry didn't like how they didn't talk about the incident because he had so many questions to ask and so many things to rant about. Seeing her walk in their first hour, taking a quick look at him and looking away kinda made him feel some oddly upset and sad. From the few days they spent together at school he thought she was super cool and one of a kind, he didn't want to let her slip out of his fingers so easily. He had to do at least something to clear everything up between them.

Harry walked in the cafeteria looking around so he could find the brown babe and once he did he made his way over to the table she is sitting at. Kahli sat alone with a gloomy look on her face and that made him walk faster to get to her.

"Hey," Harry spoke sitting down next to her making her look at him. "Can I talk to you?"

"I guess so," she murmurs hugging herself, she didn't expect for him to talk to her after what happened yesterday, she almost didn't come to school today.

He sighed running his fingers through brown hair, "Listen..I know what happened yesterday was crazy but—,"

"It wasn't crazy, it was real," Kahli corrected cutting him off. "Don't try to play this away Harry..you and I both know what really happened yesterday in the hallway."

Harry looked around them for anybody listening to him then back to her and whispered, "I know..and there's something wrong with the Dolans."

"That and the fact that we—," Kahli whispers motioning between the both of them. "—are not normal."

"Along with the Dolans," Harry adds very softly.

"They're not like us," Kahli spoke, the thought giving her goosebumps. "They're much different."

Harry gave her a look, "Of course they are because—,"

"Stop," she cuts him off swiftly. "They're robots Harry."

"And how do you know that?" Harry asks with a shaky breath.

"When I looked through them they don't have bones Harry..they are made out of metal," she whispers. "Their brain and their heart is gone."
