The Gifted | Capital

"There's a time when you're right, and you know you must fight."
- Michael Jackson

After all three hundred plus robots were drained and disintegrated Kahli, Rodney, Jeff, Kenny, Aaron, Niall, Sky, and Tyla all headed home to call it a night. It seemed like everything was a little too easy for all of their liking. Yeah, it was difficult to take control of three hundred plus robots but they did it with ease. If they were made out of metal then Kahli could take care of that. Since they were ran by electrical power Rodney handled it. And since they weren't real people Niall and Sky went in by destroying them.

It was actually barely midnight when the eight gifted kids headed home. Of course they were disappointed at the lack of opportunity they all had but it was better than nothing. They had their chance to actually work together as a team and use their gifts for something good. What if nobody came to stop them? Those robots would have attacked the city in the middle of the night, so for that, all eight kids didn't regret taking on the challenge of stoping those metal heads from destroying their city in the nightly hours—they were actually proud of themselves.

Sadly, one boy in particular wasn't proud of himself at all. He had chickened out and he had let his friends down. Maybe it was pressure, or maybe it was the lack of confidence he had. Harry was a boy who allowed his negative thoughts to consume his positive thoughts. Everything he did, and every choice he made came with both positive and negative outcomes. If he had a bad feeling that he would cave in and not give it a try. He wasn't the type to take risks and he doesn't see himself being that type of person either.

To be honest, Harry was quite jealous of Kahli and sometimes he thought it was silly. Kahli is a fearless girl who is up for challenge while he is a coward who runs away from his problems. What happened last night was a prime example to say at least. When she emitted those three words over the phone it was like his body caught on fire and his brain had completely broke down. Harry has not experienced that kind of love before and that caused him to freak out. So when she came in his room he just caved in.

Everything wasn't his fault of course. Kahli was in the moment and it just slipped, not accidentally but intentionally. If she was the reason why he pushed her out then she would never forgive herself. Kahli liked Harry, and she now realizes that maybe she does love him and telling him wasn't a mistake. She is a girl who is confident in her decisions and she is willing to live up to any outcomes that made turn out in the end, good or bad, she is strong minded and she knows what she wants. And for that, she wants Harry.

It was a complicated time for those words to be said like that, it was like she was playing with fire but she wasn't the one getting burned because Harry is the one taking all the heat. Harry had so many feelings for her but he didn't want to know where they would end up if things went sour between them. If he was brave enough then he would tell her exactly how he feels but he isn't, and he couldn't with everything going on in his life right now. But everything isn't that easy, especially right now because there is so much more to come.

Wake up Harry..wake up son.

At the familiar voice Harry fluttered his eyes open to see the sun shining through his bedroom window. Squinting his eyes a little bit he sat up and looked around his room to see that he was the only one occupying it right now.

Trust and believe in yourself Harry, Professor X spoke with calmness. There is no need to be afraid. You aren't alone and you will never be alone.

"What do you want from me?" Harry whispers.

I need you to be the hero that I know you can be, the gentle voice says before Harry lost a disconnection from the professor.
