They ran until they couldn't feel their legs anymore. They all wept over their friends that was left behind until they cried themselves to sleep. All of them could have sworn that they heard the cries of the kids who weren't able to get out, or the kids who were being taken away by Simon's armies of robots. Four of the group members were gone. They had left Louis, Tyla, Aaron, and Charlie(who had chosen to stay behind). None of them knew this was going to happen.

After they ran miles and miles away from the Mansion of The Gifted the dark grey clouds came rolling in and heavy rain started to pour. Eventually they found a dark cave and camped there for the night with a small fire for warmth. The loud thunder, the heavy rain, and the lightening strikes created a gloomy mood between the group of teens. In all, they were sad as ever over their friends that were left behind. They couldn't imagine what they must be going through right now and it just made them sadder than ever. Was there something they could do? Is there even a chance for them now?

It seems like Simon wanted this to happen all along. This was his plan from the start and it's going in the right direction. He had a good feeling that this plan was going to work one way or another. If Simon wanted something then you better believe that he's going to get it. After he received a tip from an insider working in the Mansion of The Gifted Simon knew what buttons to push. His plan wasn't over just yet, and sadly, it was just the beginning of something that could probably change the face of the whole entire planet.

AUTHOR'S NOTE :
- since this is book 2 of "The Gifted" the chapters will be much shorter . i have decided that i am going to take one book at a time so i won't feel as stressed or even rushed because that leads me to deleting books that i really wanted to write :(

( for an example i deleted sunshine , princess , & a couple other books because i started to get really overwhelmed with them all . its a really bad habit & im sorry , i hate getting your hopes up . )

- my life isn't peachy all the time because i am going through some major life changes right now . i love this story so much & i hope you all enjoy this story too 💓

- with all of that being said the chapters will be shorten until the second half of the book is completed for the sake of time because i want to create even more stories in the future . but of course they won't be as short as this one ( i just needed to update this book ) .
