Nico went home after lunch. I texted Echo, and told her everything was okay, and I said sorry for what happened. She said not to be.

I lay on my bed, and I turned on my radio. A song pop began to play. I realized it'd be good if I was happy, but now I'm just trying to relate to the lyrics.

I saw you dance
In the daylight,
Caught me in a trance
What a delight
I saw your hips
Move back and forth
I fell in love
When you looked my way

Your eyes so bright
So full of love and joy
Your lips so dry
If only I could kiss them moist
You smiled and blushed
And then you looked down
I took steps to you
And than you took the ground

And we swayed,
And we sang,
And we poured our hearts out
That song,
I relate
We poured our thoughts out
And we poured it down

And we kissed,
And we played,
And we shook without a doubt
We hit,
That beat,
Like that's what it's all about
And we're on the right route

We be on the right route
I be kissin' you right now
I'm lovin' so hard
Like tonight is just the start
And I pull my heart
Out, out
And I kiss those lips moist
Ow, ow

I saw you dance
Still movin' at midnight
Caught me in a trance
I don't put up a fight
I saw your feet
Shuffle side to side
I fell in love
On you, a centered light
But not as bright as those eyes

Your eyes so bright
So full of love and joy
Your lips so dry
I kiss them moist
You smiled and blushed
And pulled your ponytail down
I made moves with you
And we stole the ground

And we swayed,
And we sang,
And we poured our hearts out
That song,
I relate
We poured our thoughts out
And we poured it down

And we kissed,
And we played,
And we shook without a doubt
We hit,
That beat,
Like that's what it's all about
And we're on the right route

We be on the right route
I be kissin' you right now
I'm lovin' so hard
Like today was just the start
And I pull my heart
Out, out
And I kiss those lips moist
Ow, ow

Life
Is just a
Long journey
You see
But when I
Met you
You captured
My
Sight

And we swayed,
And we sang,
And we poured our hearts out
That song,
I relate
We poured our thoughts out
And we poured it down

We be on the right route
I be kissin' you right now
I'm lovin' so hard
Like tonight is just the start
And I pull my heart

And I kiss those lips moist

Just one more move, baby

Just one more song, baby

Just one more slide, baby

One more, one more

I let my radio play to commercials after that song, but I didn't listen at all. I looked up at my ceiling. My walls and ceiling were bare, white-painted and clean. Maybe I should hang something. I look around my room, but I don't have much. I have a single Selena Gomez poster, that I put on the wall opposite of my bed. She's. . . Wait, I have a boyfriend. I smile, but it falls as soon as I realize my cheeks have bent for it.

I have nothing left to hang, besides a sweater that I lay on the edge of my bed, and a banner from a running competition at one of my schools many moons ago. I hang it up by my bed.

I realize more music was playing, but I uninterestedly turned it off and unplugged my radio. I heard my phone ding, and looked at the now lit screen.

The notification was just something stupid from YouTube, and I swipe it away. Now I look at my lock screen. Nico and I. I'm ruffling his hair with my hand and offering him a lollipop, as he sits clearly unamused and tries to write on paper with a pencil. I don't remember when this was, or who took the photo, but it was at least a few months ago. When the world wasn't ending.

I sigh, and turn my phone off, letting my arms drop to my side and hit my thighs. I close my eyes, and try to imagine a paradise, a beach with beautiful, chirping birds and Nico holding my hand in the water. His laughing fills my ears, a strange, but majestic, cackle, that seems to come from a boy of higher age. He smiles, and the sun reflects off his teeth. Perfect.

I open my eyes, and stair at the wall in front of me. Perfect, but not real.

I collapse on my bed, suppressing my lingering thoughts of the desire, until I fall asleep.
