"PJ! Slow down!" I hollered as my puppy continued to yank hard at the leash on my wrist. I was currently trying to put a file into my bag while making sure PJ didn't escape, which was easier said than done.
PJ decided to continue being rude, that he took off in a sprint, ripping the leash off of my wrist. This also caused me to practically belly flop onto the pavement. I hissed in pain as I pushed myself up and checked for any cuts or bruises. Oh great, my knee and hands were all scraped up. Lovely.
I started to stand up and try looking for PJ when I noticed all my files and pages were everywhere. I started scrambling to get them back into my bag, but one page was fluttering away in the wind to who knows where.
"NO!" I shouted trying to grab it while also trying to keep my other files and pages from fluttering away. As I watched it start to slip away, a guy with glasses and a cardigan tied around his shoulders, grabbed it for me.
He walked over to me and handed me the page, "I believe this is yours."
I sniffed and took it. It was my favorite drawing I was going to show to an art museum. I was hoping it was good enough to impress some people. "T-Thanks." I stuttered. "I'm not having such a great day if you couldn't tell."
"Aww, buck up kiddo! I'm sure your day will turn around." He playfully punched me in the shoulder and I laughed.
After sliding everything back into my bag, I stood up and sighed. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find PJ."
"Oh you mean the cute little pup you were with?" He asked and I nodded. "I think I know where he went. Follow me."
I followed him to a dog park I didn't know existed. There, his leash fluttering behind him, was PJ, greeting a man who looked similar to the guy standing next to me. I let out a sigh of relief.
"PJ!" I called and the puppy turned to look at me and bounded up to me. I started scratching his ears and stomach. "Hey boy! You gave me quite the scare!"
"Aww! That's so cute!" The man gushed and I chuckled before standing up.
"How can I ever repay you?" I ask.
"Well, for starters you could tell me your name?" He asked.
I nodded; it seemed like a fair trade. "It's-"
"HEY! PATTON!" The guy who was petting PJ waved towards us and I smiled at him.
"I should probably go now." He said. "But I hope your day gets better. Bye!" He waved as he ran off to the other guy.
I waved back with a small chuckle.
Logan:
I was headed to my favorite place: the book store. I opened the door and took a big whiff of my favorite scent: books. I noticed that they renovated from the last time I was here and I couldn't find the section I was looking for: the romance comedies.
I walked up to the nearest worker and asked, "Could you show me where the romance comedies are?"
She nodded and pointed to a row of shelves not too far from me. I thanked her and was about to head over there, when I heard someone scoff. I paused and looked to see a man with a blue tie and glasses lower his book and shake his head.
One of my eyebrows shot up. "Yes? What's so amusing?"
He looked up at me, a bit of shock showing on his face. "Are you talking to me?"
