Patton:
I walked into the coffee shop near my apartment and took a deep breath. I was trying my best not to cry, but it was easier said than done. The art museum rejected my art because it wasn't "original" enough. Right now, I just wanted to sulk in peace.
After ordering, I made my way to a booth near the front and pulled out a file folder. Inside were all my drawings and photos that were shot down. I fiddled with the tab while I stared out the window and sipped my coffee.
"Well hey Kiddo! Longtime no see!" I looked up to see the man from a few days ago, waving at me. I gave him a weak smile and a small wave. "What's with the long face? Are you a little horse?" (A/n you have no idea how painful this was to type.)
I gave a small chuckle and gestured for him to sit down. "No, nothing like that. I just went to a museum to see if they would accept my art, and they said it wasn't original enough."
"Oh, I'm sorry." He mumbled, but then brightened up. "Well don't worry! You'll get the next one! I promise!"
I sniffed. "You sure?"
He nodded. "You bet my morality I do!" (A/N See what I did there)
I laughed, before saying, "You know, I never got your name."
"My name? Oh right! Well my name is Patton and your Y/n right?" He questioned.
I smiled. "You are correct."
He clapped with joy. "I was right! Yes!"
I laughed. "Well it's nice to meet you, again, Patton."
He returned a smile. "Likewise Y/n."
Logan:
I didn't need any more books, I just wanted to read somewhere quiet. My friend was having some of her obnoxious friends over and I did not mix well in that group. So I went back to the library.
Only to run into Mr. Almanac again. I was passing by the reference books, when I saw him leaving the area. Naturally, I went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. He jumped slightly before turning to face me.
"Hello again." He stated, devoid of all emotion.
"Hello Almanac." I smiled at him cheekily.
"I have a name you know." He responded, adjusting his glasses.
"And that is?" I asked, an eyebrow perking up.
"My name is Logan and you are?" He inquired.
I held out my hand. "My name is Y/n, nice to meet you." He takes my hand and shakes it firmly. "So what are you doing here? Trying to see how many people you can insult in an hour?'
He gave a weak chuckle. "No, I needed a quiet place to relax. My roommates have a hard time grasping the idea of silence."
I blinked in surprise. "Mine too. That's actually why I'm here."
"Really? That seems totally." He whipped out some note cards and shuffled through them. "Lit." His voice cracked and I chuckled.
"Lit? Really?" I asked, with a small chuckle.
"What? Did I use it incorrectly?" He asked, genuinely confused.
I shrugged. "I don't know. It just sounded odd. Also it didn't sound like you."
"Me?"
"Yeah, you. You're more of a smart guy than a trend follower." I explained. "So just, tell me what you were actually going to say."
